Sunday - and I'm one tired puppy!!
We left Edmonton city limits around 10:00 am this morning and were in Calgary by 12:30. I used to think it to at least 3 hours to drive from Calgary to Edmonton or visa versa.
Anyway got home in time for 20 winks (or at least I attempted)Then it was time for........suspense and drum roll...........................soccer. Son had an exhibition game. (or what they like to call try out) Both teams played well; differently but well. Thanks to Mrs. E for the suggestion of the epsom salts for the son's bath. He noticed a difference already on his turf burn. And I was quite shocked not a lot of complaining about it.
Bill put a couple of pizza's in the oven; I had some soup and read the paper. Then it was movie time. I think we really need to vote about letting Bill rent. He rented Honeymooners. I left 1/4 way through to watch Hairspray; the son left 1/2 way through to watch - what ever he was watching. Even Bill thought it was a dumb movie, but he watched it until the end.
Better get to bed early tonight as I'm feeling the need for some extra zzzz's tonight.
BODY: Bed early is the best for me today.
MIND: Louise Hay "I dwell in a world of love and acceptance." You just have to look for it!

Day 207 - 158 Days to Go
My bad! Technically not really bad; didn't forget, was just out of town and didn't have access to a computer!
So here is Saturday in a nut shell. "Went to Edmonton!" That's one small nut!
We (son and friend and me) left 6:30 amish Saturday morning for Edmonton; by the time we stopped at Timmy's for breakfast, it was 7:00 before we were on the highway.
First stop was the West soccer center in Edmonton; met the Traynors to watch Jane's game at 10:30 am.
Second stop was West Edmonton Mall. I had great intentions of doing some shopping, but when push to came shove, I really didn't need anything. What to do with my time while the two boys shopped for a few hours. I did what any tired adult would have done; went and had one of those water massages (right in the mall) and then went out to the car and slept!!!! That was my only big expense for the trip. Of course as I was walking to the car, I slipped and fell on the ice and unrelaxed any muscles that had just been worked on.
Third stop our hotel. Rosslyn Inn and Suites. Highly recommended. It's near the St Alberta sports arena (with a water park) Got a great deal on the room. There was a basket of food for us (no charge) paper in the morning; and a well kept room. Coincidence happened - the girls ASA soccer team was also staying there. Now if the son had know the hotel we were staying in, I would have thought he had planned that. But he had no clue where we were staying and in fact had hoped we were staying at the Fantasyland Hotel.
Fourth Stop. The St Albet Sports Arena and Water park. The boys went swimming and I wandered around watching some of the soccer Slush cup games.
Fifth Stop; Back at the hotel for some take out Boston Pizza. The boys rented an in room movie "Zombieland." (pretty bad) and we played some MJ.
Sixth Stop. Back to the Sports Arena to watch the Blizzard Eagles Team (Colin and friends) play at 10:30 pm. It was a nice change to sit watch a game with no emotions invested.
Seventh Stop: Local beer store for some coolers - just for me!!! Tried a new flavor - black berry and lichee. Very tasty
Final Stop; Back to the hotel to play some more MJ. Both boys were fast asleep by the time I turned out the light and hit the pillow.
Overall a great day!
BODY: I put over 16,000 steps on and most of it was from walking the West Edmonton Mall before my nap.
MIND: Despite the hectic schedule we kept, it was a nice weekend to bond with the son. He opened up about a lot of stuff (that would be my definition of alot)
Off to supper; will write today's post later.
PS Thanks Sue for making sure I'm alright!

Day 206 - 159 Days to Go
159 days to go. I'm trying to think of a big finale but nothing is jumping out at me. I guess it's not a good idea to think that far ahead as then it will mean the summer is over!!!
Didn't have to work this afternoon as S was a sick young lady. So I took the opportunity to get some stuff done, including chocolate chip cookies! Laundry done, new sheets put on, and Bill finally gets his 4 shirts ironed!
Dropped the son off at soccer and headed over to pick up mom. She was in need of a few groceries so did the usual Safeway haul and then to Tim Horton's for supper.
Got to the Dome in time to meet up with the team, get some cards sign and watch the last game of the season. It was a scary game. A few boys got knocked into the boards. Almost finished the managerial duties!!!! Collect a few more jersey's, turn everything in and I'm out of here.
Had a bit of a soccer scare for the son. Thought he got called up on Saturday, turns out he wasn't one that got called up! I look at it as a positive thing, of course the son see's it as possible negative. Did I mention I am frigin tired of soccer!!!!
BODY: 15,900 steps and counting.
MIND: Louise Hay "I love to communicate and attract loving experiences and people to me."

Day 205 - 160 Days to Go
Two more new students. We are up to 20 in the class - the maximum. There are days when some will be away (I'm sure)
Didn't get alot accomplished around the house today. Tried to listen to my hypnosis tapes, but everytime I turned it on, one of my girls would bug me (the daughter who is trying to organize her life, or the dog who just wanted to play) Guess I will stick to listening to it at night.
Sent and received a nice email to a friend that I used to work with. It sure made me miss working there. Will have to try and get together with some of the girls soon.
Was having a short pity party this evening, but it didn't last long. Had my 5th rejection during the evening (all for totally different reasons) and it was starting to bug me. Then realized, it can only bug me if I let it. So I got over the pity really fast, and got back to my place where "I don't have to please everyone all the time!"
Son had fitness tonight so I did a littl browing at Bed and Bath. Picked up a rug for the basement (to help the dog get up on the couch); some new sheets and cleaning stuff. Must have been during my pity party and needed to vent (or spend money) Then I popped into Starbucks and enjoyed a skinny steamed milk while reading my new book '"Three cups of Tea." It is a nice story so far.
So now I'm home and deciding bed time should be soon.
BODY: 12,600 steps in today. Chasing after 20 kids will help add those up!
MIND: Louise Hay "Limitations are merely opportunities to grow. I use them as stepping stones to success."
Good night

Day 204 - 161 Days to Go
K, I don't want to brag, but I make a darn good quiche!!!!! Why did I never make these 20 years ago. The best part is that everyone in the family likes them, so I don't have to make a restaraunt dinner. We all eat the same thing. Moving on!!!!
Had a very relaxing day with a minor interruption - actually a major interruption - the dentist. I'm almost 49 years old and I still don't like going to the dentist - even for just a check up. And of course, there's always that one tooth they are watching. So looks like I'm going back for a new crown as there is a chipped tooth. Must be from the pop corn (kernels). I admitted my love of chewing almost popped popcorn kernels, and before the dentist could give me a lecture, the dental assistant admitted the same love!!!! Then we were both in trouble. She probably more than I because apparently she should know better. I bet her dental benefits are better than mine though.
When I came home from the dentist, the son was home already. Seems he had his spare the last class of the day. Nice surprise, but somehow more work for me. I slipped in for a quick nap, only to discover that the son had done the same thing downstairs on the couch.
Watched a little bit of TV while working on my baskets tonight. Only 6 more have to be done, but I'm aiming for 10 more. (will try and send some to the daughter and roommates if I get my act together.)
Off to bed, but have a dear friend on my mind tonight. I'm hoping she'll reconsider and join me on a road trip this weekend. Nothing like getting away and letting family fend for themselves to appreciate what is missing.
BODY: Got the 10,000 steps in. No doubt from laundry runs and line dancing practising. Got to get a few of those more complicated dances under belt in time for the parade!!!
MIND: Louise Hay "I always feel appreciated at work. As I value life, life values me." All it takes if for one person to appreciate you!!!!
Good Night

Day 203 - 162 Days to Go
Busy, busy day!!!
Work this morning - another new student started. We are up to 18 kids in the class. No time to sit back and relax now.
Came home and had a quick nap - why "cause there are 18 kids in the class!!!"""
Did a quick tidying up and then left to pick the son up from school and take him to soccer. And it's Tuesday so I had some time before the line dancing lessons. I decided to do a bit of shopping for those must have items. Got a book at Chapters that was actually recommended by my Line Dancing ladies "Three Cups of Tea" Will let you know how it is. Then headed over to Lamlee's to find my black boots for Stampede. Found a great pair; comfortable, black, and on sale!!!! What better time to try them out than at line dancing. They worked great. No sore feet.
Then it was back to soccer as the son had more soccer!!!!!!
Home at last and just as I am updating my calendar, the driving school called - and yeah, the son will be starting those lessons soon.
BODY: Line dancing worked up a good sweat tonight.
MIND: Louise Hay"I handle authority with ease and I am always respected in return." If I keep saying this over and over, it will happen.
Good night

Day 202 - 163 Days to Go
The stars must have been aligned today, or at least that gorgeous full moon!!! Woke up at 6:30 this morning (same time as the men in the house) and instead of being tired and falling back to sleep, I got up and had breakfast. Ok in fairness, I usually get up early and have breakfast and then go back to bed. But not today - I had energy to burn. I needed to go for groceries and went on line to confirm what time Superstore opens. WHO KNEW!!! Superstore used to open at 9:00 am. It now opens at 7:00. I quickly got dresses, watered my hair, dabbed on some makeup and headed out the door. I was home and putting groceries away by 8:30 (that's am not pm) Then the phone rings, and I say to myself, I hope it's not the Hamptons school as I really need to get my groceries put away. Guess who!! The Hamptons School - but they don't need me for the entire day, just the lunch hour! Hmmm. Just had to change the supper menu from hamburgers to taco's.
Today was the last day of soccer volunteering for me. I'm going to miss those little kids. They were wo sweet. It was fun to watch. Who knows, maybe I'll get called again to come and help.
While I waited for the son to come out from APEX, I got another five baskets finished (they were at different stages.
Today is March 1st, and it would have been the 50th wedding anniversary of my mother and father-in-law. They never really openly acknowledged their anniversary, but Mom was always thrilled when I would remember. Thinking of her lots today.
Found the perfect comic this morning in the Calgary Herald for the daughter. It's from "The Other Coast" Anyone that knows my daughter, and has listened to her stories after one of her flights home will totally get the comic.
BODY: It's only 8:30 pm and I'm already at 18,000 steps. What a great start to a new month.
MIND: :Louise Hay "There is ample time and opportunity for creative expression in whatever area I choose."
Good night (no lost tonight)
