The universe is playing havoc with me today!!!
My day started on a good vibe, and actually ended on a good vibe. In between - well you be the judge!!! I had to run a few errands and needed to get an early start. Ran over to Tuscany to pick up some t-shirts for the son's soccer team. Next stop was Fido in Market Mall! 50 minutes later, I was fit to be tied. I did not know sales people could be so knowledgable and yet so stupid. There was a customer in front of me who was sent from another planet to teach me some type of lesson. First of all, he wanted to pay his Fido bill and then renew his plan and get a free black berry!!!! Who goes into a store to get a new phone and forgets their old phone!!!!! Let me rephrase that, because really that wasn't even the stupid part. It took him 10 mintues to search every friggin pocket on him, and patting himself to realize he didn't have his phone on him. I was almost going to offer to phone his number to see if he could find it on him. Then he realized he must have left it in his truck. (trying not to judge him......yet) So the salesman (I'll call him Darrel - cause that was him name) tells him to run out and get it, he'll wait. So the customer did, and Darrel did - wait. Oh sure he continued to type on his computer and fill in some forms. But he didn't acknowledge myself or the other customer behind me - not even an evil stare. Dingleballs comes back with his phone and he and Darrel continue on with this new phone process (Fido's making money you know) Time's ticking away and Darrel askes Mr. Dingleballs if he wanted email. And of course he does, cause he has it now. Well, just like needing your old phone to get a new phone, he's going to need his old email address......Hmmm,, what was it again.......I type it every day........it's written write next to my computer at home.........here let me try typing......nope that's not it.....maybe it's this.......hmmmm, I'm sure I know it......Another 15 mintues later and Mr. Dingleballs still can't remember it. Now, we all are affected by oldtimers, heck I probably have it more often than most people.. BUT ACKNOWLEDGE YOU CAN'T REMEMBER and move on. And the saleman just keeps on letting him try. Now back at the counter I'm thinking to myself, I don't want to be the customer from hell, but I've got to say something. "Excuse me (mr. salesman sir), is there any way I could just get a small deposit made to my account!!!!! Well the only thing I got out of that, besides a nasty stare was "I'm busy at the moment!" I asked him how much longer he was going to let mr dingleballs squirm, trying to think of his email address. "I'll be another 10 or 15 mintues!" he replies. Arrogant, smug, robot, were words that came to mind to describe him. Even the young gentleman behind me was losing his patience. I turned to him to let him know once I got helped I'd only be a couple of minutes, assuming I could keep my mouth shut. We both laughed!!!! Finally Mr. Dingleballs resigns to the fact that he's not going to figure out his email address and they continue on with the sale (there is still money to be made) So the saleman (who could also be called dingleballs at this point, but that would be confusing)gathers all the pieces of papers together, folds them so they fit into the brochure, reminds the customer again what new features he has, and reluctantly lets him leave to figure out his brand new blackberry. I'm getting the feeling he's not looking forward to dealing with his next cutomer - me!!!!!!!With a smile on my face (it's much easier to hide the gritting of the teeth that way) I ask if I can get my deposit back for returning the lender phone from the other day. They wouldn't give the deposit back then, because I didn't have the same credit card that was used. So now Bill has trusted me with his credit card (we have the same credit account)and I hand it over with the greatest of ease, because I had followed through with their request, and I just want the 60.00 back. Mr. Salesman takes the card and starts the process. "You know, William should really be here, because it's his credit card, but I'll let it go this time." Are you kidding me!!!!! "I have the same credit card account, just a different number, do you want to use my card!" "No, no, but just so you know for next time, he needs to be here if it's his credit card!" Mr. Salesman was doing me a favor...1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10..... I took my card, my credit and I left before I said something that I couldn't take back. So now I'm annoyed and I know it. I start to talk to myself about calming down, it's over, you can't control stupidness, let it go. I'm supposed to stop in at Zellers to get Halloween candy, but I'm don't have the time and I'm not in the mood, so I have to walk past Shoppers Drug Mart, I'll buy the candy there and I don't care if it's more expensive. 32 deep breaths later, I'm in Shoppers looking for a birthday card, and over the PA system, the store annouces that all of its halloween candy is now on for 40% off. As the smile comes over my face, I realize the universe was helping me take my time - everything happens for a reason. So I grab my card, a couple of boxes of candy and pay at the check out! As I leave the store, I hear someone call out "Stacey are you sure that's enough candy!" I turn to see my brother-in-law (whom I haven't seen in over a year - family stuff)...awkward - yes, bad timing - I'm way behind now. So we stop chat and I can't think of too much to say! As I'm walking to my car, I'm laughing to myself, but talking to the sky!! "Is there anything else you want to throw at me today!!!!! That was my morning in a nut shell (a big nut)
The rest of the day is calm in compareness, and certainly not as mind provoking!
BODY: Got in 12,000 steps. It certainly wasn't from leaning on a counter waiting to be served! Bill and I put my snow tires on my car. I think I could do it by myself if I had too. Thank goodness I don't have to.
MIND: All this universe activity made me use my positive thinking skills, and put some "Whys" out there. I think everyone needs a few of those moments to wonder! Also worked on some Christmas tags with a friend while I waited for soccer to be over.
Halloween is over, clocks are turned back and I'm off to bed.
Hummmmmm - night!

Day 80 - 285 Days to Go
Had a great day today. Nothing special happened, but I did come to a realization. Friendships take time to grow and mature. I have a new friend - well not new, but I think our friendship has taken that next step. I trust her with my utmost secrets and know I won't be judged because I haven't different views or ask stupid questions!
Thanks CM for letting me into your color of circles! You're a great lady - and thank you for trusting me with your most sacred gifts!
Worked this afternoon. I'm loving it, but boy did we have a difficult test. I had to really rack my brain to come up with alternatives. And some of the questions were just dumb! Really! Who uses a card catalogue at the library any more. I think some tests need to be updated!!!!!
Came home, had a bite to eat and started working on Christmas cards! Not mine, but Mom's. I figure I'm going to get a little busy soon, and I better get some of the simple stuff done!
The daughter is spending her last evening in Calgary visiting friends. It has been a wonderful week. I think we are maturing (as a mother and daughter)
The son went to a movie with his "adopted" brother and now their watching the TV - movie, games, show - but just chillin'. Guess Mr. Stefan is spending the night!!!!
BODY: Got my 10,000 steps in.
MIND: My heart is full - I'm not sure of or with what, but it feels full - content and life is good! Despite all the possible negativity that could be going on, I think I am able to take it all in, process it, and put it in a positive light!!!!

Day 79 - 286 Days to Go
What a nice day today!!!! The daughter left early with Bill. She was going to work out, do some shopping for her trip to Bahamas in December and then pick up lunch and come home.
I got to spend the morning with Miss Caylee. She is so alert! I feel like I should be putting her in her chair and letting her explore with her eyes - but she is just too darn cute and too darn fun. I'm probably spoiling her for her mom and she'll have a heck of a time getting to her play on her own!!!!!
When Alisa got back from her errands, we had dim sum for lunch. Note to self - don't order dim sum on an empty stomach.....or without translaters. Who knew how much was in one order. Needless to say, the son was very excited when he finally arrived home and found all this left over food. Sticky rice tastes good almost forever.
I was excited that the daughter got to meet her new cousin Caylee!! The daughter fulfilled her role and "not interested cousin", but I think she was pretty amazed at this little person and how it belonged to her big cousin Alisa. Or at least that was what I read into it. The daughter isn't a baby person, but at this age, neither was her father! - and look how he changed!
Had a short nap in the afternoon, and started to clean up my mess in the kitchen. I attempted a new recipe of banana loaf. It's really good. You split the flour between white and whole wheat - and you add ground flax seed. I used my fancy dancy Magic Bullet to chop the walnuts. Another note to self - don't put in too many or leave to long, you get walnut butter!!!!! I made two loaves and only one left - I think it was a hit!!!!
BODY: Got in 12,000 steps.
MIND: Unknown author "God made us cousins because he knew our mom's couldn't handle us as sisters." How true that statement is for Alisa and Ashley!!!!! I can't even imagine having the two of them under the same roof! It would spell T R O U B L E

Day 78 - 287 Days to Go
I can't believe the week is half over. Had a very unproductive day - in the house- but a very productive day with the daughter. Did a bit of straightening up in the morning and then the daughter asked me to come out to the barn with her. It was a nice afternoon. Brought back alot of memories from her teenage years - some good, some even better. As we drove out to the barn I started to miss the drive that we made on an almost daily basis. But boy did that feeling disappear as I stepped into the actual barn and caught the lovely aroma of freshly made horse poop!!!!! It was nice to see Kim and Harold, Sonny and Cher (the cats) and of course Mac and the gang of horses. I think I seen Mac (I can only differentiate a horse by black, white or brown.) Thank goodness for names on the stalls, or I would have been talking to the wrong white horse when I was looking for Pebbles.
Came home, made the much anticipated tacho's for supper and headed off to the son's soccer game. I'm not a very good "audience member". My heart can't take it, especially when the son when sliding into the boards. It was a very close game, but unfortunately for our team, the ref was a little one sided with her calls. I think she tried to redeem herself in the second half, but by then the damage was done and the game was tied. It could have been worse, we could have lost!!!!
BODY: 10,000 steps and couting. Didn't really get a chance to practice the line dancing today. Although I did try in the hallway of the barn, but the horses started to spook. Will give me my all tomorrow.

My heart can't take it, especially when the son when sliding into the boards. It was a very close game, but unfortunately for our team, the ref was a little one sided with her calls. Day 77 - 288 Days to Go
Woke up to more snow today. I'm optomistic that we'll have some snowless days still ahead.
Spent the morning with the daughter. I'm greatful she was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule. We drove out to the new mall by Balzac. I hadn't been there yet and today seemed like the day to go. I wanted to pick up a couple of shirts for Dad for Christmas. The son had purchased a couple there last weekend. Grandpa liked the shirts and was even more impressed with the price - 2 for $30.00. Can't wait until the day the son and Grandpa where the same shirts to the same function!!!!!
Also picked up a nice pair of boots for my line dancing. As nice as they are, they don't have magic powers and I'm still going to have to practice every day to keep on top of all 6 dances.
Ran into one of my Mom's from PREP. I worked with her son a few years ago and now he is in PREP 3. She had heard I left, but did not believe the story that had been told to her. It's too bad, the truth can't be told, because it really does give PREP a image when they say one thing, and the parent knows that isn't the truth!!!!
Had a quick rest in the daughter's room while we watched a home video. It was where the daughter was just learning to walk and her 1st birthday party. By the smiles on her face and the laughing, I'm guessing she enjoyed the movie.
The daughter drove the son to soccer practice and I was able to go directly to my dance class. Lots of people tonight. There was even one guy. He is on an exchange program with the U of C and apparently he line dances in France. So he was in the class. Brave soul!!!
BODY: Before I left for line dancing, I had 9500 steps on the pedometer. So I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that there were over 10,000 steps by the end of the night. I didn't want to wear the pedometer with my new boots!!
MIND: Why do I feel the need to save the world. With the gentlemand in our class tonight, I spent more time concerned with this poor guy and how difficult it was for him to follow the steps. I never did go over and help, and I'm not sure what would have possessed me to think I could communicate with him (that french/english language barrier)
Late night tonight, but well worth it.

Day 76 - 289 Days to Go
What a great day for a Monday!!!!! I managed to get a little more Christmas shopping done. The daughter went out to the barn to visit, and when she came back after lunch, I snuck out a little early before picking up the son for soccer. We bothed volunteered at 4:00, then he had APEX from 5 - 6:30 and Tech from 6:30 til 8:00. The time actually went by fast. I love working with the little kids. Glen has been so nice to let me help out!!!!!
Hooked up on Facebook with another old friend from junior high school. Talk about misjudging someone. This friend has over 300 and friends and I believe all but one are female - models, bodybuilders, etc. So I sent him a friend request and he accepted. Then I sent him an email and asked if he even knew who it was. And he did. Back in Junior High I choreographed (big words - put together back then) a dance to Boogie Fever. And Ray remembered. It was nice catching up. We're going to try and get a group together to go for coffee!!!!!
BODY: Over 13,000 steps today. Most of those are from chasing after little ones at soccer.
MIND: My face still has a smile on it. Junior High was the best time. Much better than High School. We had so much fun and everyone hung out in a group; dancing, skateboarding and sports in general. Yeah for King George!!!!!!

Day 75 - 290 Days to Go
Do you realize there are only 61 days until Christmas!!!! I'm looking forward to the season this year. Not sure why! Not even sure what we'll be doing this year! I am starting to enjoy going away for the holidays, but we won't be doing that this year, and for a few reasons.
I got alot accomplished for a Sunday. Didn't quite finish the laundry and ironing, but that will be on the top of my list tomorrow.
Had a nice outing with my new sister-in-law. Not sure how long I can use the world "new" and she automatically becomes an old one. How about newest. Anyways, we went to Jubilations Dinner Theatre. It was wonderful. I am always amazed at the talent they have. Such a variety of ages. My biggest surprise was the actors that turned out to be the main characters (or the most characters) are not the people I would have picked out at the beginning of the show. Ahh to have that talent. They are people who look like they are enjoying their job alot (I guess if this is their full time job)
Came home, worked on some christmas presents. Almost put what I was working on and for who, but with my luck, this would be the night that they actually read the blog!!!!
BODY: Got in my 10,000 steps today. Did a lot of running up and down stairs with my chores today. Might have had something to do with a bad memory too. I'd get upstairs and realize I forgot something and visa versa.
MIND: Not sure where my mind in wandering tonight. I had an interesting conversation with my BFF Janice. She was on a mission to improve the lives of seniors and get them out of Casino's. I can see her point, but I must admit, I didn't think she was serious at first. I actually thought I offended her with my joking. My gut feeling told me there was something else going on. I'm hoping my gut is wrong, cause she says everything is fine!!!! But I will make a conscious effort on my part to be kind to a senior next time we meet!!!!!!!

Day 74 - 291 Days to Go
Even though I don't really have a job to go to during the week, I so look forward to the weekend, and today was no different.
First of all, the daughter arrived home. I mean, the daughter arrived in Calgary. Bill picked her up at 9:10 am and the two of them headed down to the Digital Camera Show in the Round up Center. So although she was home early, I actually didn't see her until 4:30ish. I'm not sure who was more excited to see her, Me or Maya.
I worked on a few more home videos. Almost done transferring them from VHS to DCD.
This evening, we all headed over to Anne and Brian's house (different times and different vehicles) This is the first time we have all been together in a long time, and since the daughter was home from the east, we thought it would be a good time to take some family photos. It took a little longer than we had planned, but I can't wait to see some of the shots.
BODY: Didn't wear my pedometer today. I think I was in bare feet all day, except when practicing my line dancing. It's difficult to do some of those moves unless you have a slippery surface.
MIND: Lousie Hay quote "If you don't eat right and you don't know how to take care of your body, you're not going to have the energy to do anything wonderful." As I sit here typing with indigestion, I realize I didn't eat healthy today. Tomorrow will be a better day - I am positive of that!!!!
Son needs the computer again, so I'm off to bed.

Day 73 - 292 Days to Go
This is probably going to be the shortest blog to date.
The day was fine. Had a great day at work with SC. She amazes me every week.
Have some great dialogue going on with the son, but at his request I won't discuss it in my blog (just yet). I am questioning my parent judgement. I do wish both kids were still young babies. Life was so much easier. All I can say is, Thank goodness for open communication!!!!!!
BODY: Over 10,000 steps. Mowed the lawn, did some weeding, took the bus and C-train to work!!!
MIND: A lot of reflection to do tonight.

BODY: Over 10,000 steps. Mowed the lawn, did some weeding, took the bus and C-train to work!!!

Day 72 - 293 Days to Go
I've really got to start using my light longer. It was difficult getting out of bed again this morning. Tomorrow is going to be different - I can feel it.
I was going to run errands this morning, but decided I didn't want to drive around by myself. So I invited the son along and made a few pit stops at some soccer stores. It was a nice drive. Pretty much did the loop around the city. Stopped at 660 radio station to pick up some tickets I won. Drove out to Riverbend to check out soccer shoes, headed to Varsity to pick up soccer stuff for the coach, and finally superstore to get some bananas. You can never have too many bananas. Needless to say, I was ready for lunch and a nap when I got home.
The son had a soccer game tonight. They were playing quite well in the first half, but the other time got into a groove and ended up tieing the game. I don't know if my heart can take the tension of these games. Maybe being a manager wasn't a good idea afterall.
Bill is in Grande Prairie today, so his flight should be in soon.
BODY: Got the 10,000 steps in today. Mostly from line dance practising.
MIND: If you want something to keep your mind working, try remembering line dance numbers. I had no problem at one, or two and even three seemed to fly easy. But now that we are at six.... I'm fine once I get the dance started, but putting the name to the steps is the confusing part. I also put some kindness out there tonight. There are a couple of parents on the team I haven't had the chance to meet yet. Well a cousin of one of the new players was selling chocolate bars. He is trying to raise money to go to Italy as a graduation present. I thought that was ingenious. So I bought 5!!!! My heart smiles when I feel like I've made someones day!

Day 71 - 294 Days to Go
Time to start using my light box again. Sometimes I get so busy with day to day things, I forget to do things that will help me in the long run. But this morning, it was hard to get out of bed and I think it had to do with the gloomy morning. But once I was up, I was on a roll. Those dust bunnies didn't stand a chance again me. But like the real bunnies, boy can they multiple. Also got caught up on soccer stuff.
BODY: 9000 steps today. Obviously I need to practice my line dancing more. I'm trying to figure out the best way to practice. I need something on my feet that make it slippery to move about, but at the same time, I think I need something with an arch. By the time I'm finished practicing my lower legs have been aching. Hmmm, any thoughts!!!
MIND: I'm not sure what made my day so appealing, but as I sit here and type, I still have a smile on my face. My life is good! I have no complaints. A cute quote " When your dreams turn to dust.....vacuum!"

Day 70 - 295 Days to Go
Today was one of those days when everything that happened, just made me smile. And sometimes, it just takes the little things. I got the chance to babysit Miss Caylee again this morning. I think we are starting to bond. Even better, I think she and Miss Maya are starting to bond. As long as Maya gets equal amount of attention, things are all good.
A few quick pick ups around the house and it was time for soccer drop off. The son agreed to help me out and go a little early so I could make my line dance class on time. Thank goodness I was a little early because I used the extra practice time wisely. Up to six songs now and the pathways in my brain are starting to resemble rush hour on the deerfoot trail! Finished at 7:00 and zoomed back (never over the speed limit - no matter what the potential speeding camera shot might say)to pick up the son. He was in good spirits (with a hopeful soccer trip to Hawaii in his planning) and that made the drive home, much more calmer.
Made myself a healthy smoothy (that's right no tequila for me)out of fruit and water and sat down to watch my NCIS!!! Even received a phone call from the daughter, and she sounded excited to be coming for a visit next week.
One of most pleasant parts of the day, came near the very end. As I was searching on Facebook, I had a short, but poinant conversation with a very dear friend. A smile came to my face, and I'm having a difficult time removing it. I'm anxious to get to bed now and reminice!!!!!!

Day 69 - 296 Days to Go
Not how I thought my Monday was going to turn out.
Got a call first thing in the morning from the Hamptons School. They needed a sub, and I was free. Didn't realize how much I missed the kids, until I stayed an extra hour to help out in the classroom. They are so smart!!! Left the school and picked up the son at his school and took him to APEX. Got a chance to help out again with the little kids group. Judith asked if I could do the signing in every week!! YES, I'm getting closer! Didn't get home until 7:30 pm. Had a quick bite to eat and then ran out to pick up Jane from work. Her Mom and Dad had gone to watch her sister's soccer game.
The son got a DVD from the Hurricanes containing pictures from their trip to England. The pictures, music, everything about this DVD is amazing. It was long, but totally worth it.
BODY: Got in more than 13,000 steps today. Most of those were from working at the school and helpin out at soccer.
MIND: I love music - and I love listening to words of songs. The songs that were on the soccer DVD/CD were so well matched. Somebody put alot of work and effort into creating this memory. I will cherish it for ever, as I'm sure the son will too. What an opportunity the son had!!!!!
Night, son wants the computer!!!

Day 68 - 297 Days to Go
I just realized I am into the 200's for my days left. Wow, I'm impressed with myself!
Today was a very productive day - once I woke up. I can't believe I slept in until 8:30 (without waking up earlier that is) Even Bill was still in bed. It must have had something to do with the fact that I never got my nap in yesterday. And I didn't get my nap in again today.
Had a quick shower (I think I did) and headed out to Costco for a couple of things. $255.00 later..... But the best part is I got three Christmas presents. Wasn't looking for anything in particular, but a couple of things jumped out at me. I walked up and down each aisle (between weaving through tons of people). Had a couple of snacks (can't resist some of the samples) So I think groceries are set for a few days. Ran into Tracey and Henry. Their buggy was still empty, while mine was over flowing. After Costco, I popped into Canadian Tire to see if they had my artificial Christmas tree in yet. I found the exact one I wanted last year, but didn't buy it because we were spending Christmas in Dallas. So now, I am looking once again for the exact one. They didn't have any trees yet, but lots of Christmas decorations. Also bought my new clock radio. Get this, it shines the time on the ceiling. Wonder if that will be soothing or annoying!!!!! I'll find out tonight.
Came home and put a pork roast on the BBQ. I had also bought a meat thermometer and wanted to try it out. Works great.
Worked on a few more home videos. The couple I did today had the son in them. Made him come and watch a few takes. Even he thought they were cute (I'm pretty sure that's not the word he would use, but his smile told me different)
BODY: Got over 13,000 steps in today. I'm sure a lot of that had to do with walking every aisle in Costco.
MIND: For the past two days, I have woken up and tried to think of things I would change from the day before. Couldn't think of anything so I must be having great days. Here's a cute quote from Scott Roeber. "They say god has existed from the beginning of time and will exist beyong the end of time. Can you imagine thrying to sit through his home movies."

Day 67 - 298 Days to Go
I was actually avoiding writing in my blog tonight!! Why? Cause really it was a very uneventful day. The son had some friends stay over night last night. He had to get up for a course at school, so was out of the house by 8:30. I went back to bed until friend number 1 woke up. He left shortly after that, and friend number two didn't wake up until 12:00. Ahh to be a teenager again. After he left, Bill and I went looking at flooring. I think (fingers crossed) we are going to replace the carpet downstairs (with Maya's markings) and the carpet in our bedroom. I'm so excited (not getting my hopes up - but ok, I am), I want to start ripping out the carpet now. I am certainly not the poster person for patience! What a perfect time to do it though, before I get back into the swing of things with a job!!!!!
After looking at some samples, we picked up the son, brought him home for a quick change so he could make the last 30 mintues of a tech practice. Considering he and his friends didn't go to bed until 3:30 amish, I would think he'd want to go home and just sleep. I guess thats what they call dedication!
After tech, came home, quick clean up and took the son over to his adopted family's home. I guess we'll see him sometime tomorrow.
BODY: Hmmm my pedometer reads just over 8000 steps. But I think the best thing I did for my body today, was when I stopped for a sub sandwhich for Bill for supper and I had soup. Why? Cause I really wanted some popcorn tonight. I was very proud of myself, because those subs looked delicious.
MIND: Despite not getting my nap in today, I still have a smile on my face. I can't think of anything I would have changed about today, so that too is a good thing.
I'm off to bed and a good, no great nights sleep.

Day 66 - 299 Days to Go
A little bit of a slow start today. Might have had something to do with our little outing last night! I had to work at noon, so I didn't stay in bed too long (although I really wanted to)
Tonight was a trip once again to the Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival. I thought for sure that tonight would be boring as we had done the same thing the night before. But although the "where" was the same, the difference between a Thursday night and a Friday night was unbeliveable. I'm glad we were ablt to do both nights. Thursday night, was a calm night, not a large crowd of people, lots of time to observe and get information from the sales people. Friday night got busy fast, very crowded, a few line-ups. The people that were there, were obviously there to party!!! Both nights were exceptionally fun. But I will be relaxing Saturday night. I think I'm just getting too old for this.
BODY: I only tried a couple of drinks tonight as I was the designated driver. I also didn't indulge in any desserts. I'm pretty sure my step count was quite high as I did more walking than I did on Thursday night. Plus at work I parked far away from the building so I had to walk about three blocks.
MIND: Tonight adventure was spent with two good friends. We have travelled with Diane and Bruce, gotten to see a sober and not so sober side of each other. We are lucky to have found two great people to be part of our life. "Love is blind, but friendship closes it's eyes!" We've all done that a few times.
Off to bed and a good night sleep.

Day 65 - 300 Days to Go
First of all, I didn't forget to write my blog last night - I was just to darn tired!
Let me rephrase that; At first I forgot to write in my blog, climbed into bed, then remembered but was too darn tired to get out of bed! Even the guilt couldn't make me jump out of bed! So here it is!
Busy busy day. Started out with a first from a soccer mom, dropping off some soccer stuff. Good thing I was out of bed and dressed! (good thing she phoned first or I wouldn't have been out of bed and dressed)
Quick clean up and I was off to take my mother-in-law to a CT appointment. Apparently it was being done on her head to see if dementia or depression was setting in! Can that actually be done? If so, I want it done? Why was it never done on me? I'm going to have a talk with my doctor, the next time I see him! Mom was tired by the end of it, but I thought she looked great and did great. She is getting very weak, but seems more content - if that makes any sense!
Then I dashed home to pick up the son's soccer stuff, give a quick cuddle to Maya and I was off again to pick up the son and drop him off at the soccer dome for a game. He was early, but preferred it that way instead of getting a ride later from a friend. I think he actually enjoys hanging out at the soccer dome. It reminds me of the daughter when she was riding, even though she didn't have a lesson, she would prefer hanging out at the barn!

They have a new alcohol freezie here (have had one in Ontario and B.C. for a few years now) It was a little too sour for my liking. Almost made your jaws clench at the back. The best part of the night was when we sat down for some cheese tasting. I learned some interesting facts. One was not to keep your cheese in the door of the fridge (I'm assuming he was referring to fine cheese, because why else is the cheese compartment in the door) hmmmmm. It was a fairly early evening as we were home by 10:00ish. We are off to make the same rounds on Friday night - might not turn out the same way!!!!
BODY: By 3:00 I had 4900 steps on my pedometer. Didn't take it with me to the Festival,(due to foot wear) but I'm pretty sure I got close to, if not over the 10,000 mark. Despite the fact, Bill even parked pretty close to the facility!!!!
MIND: Quote: "Alcohol removed inhibitions - like that scared little mouse who got drunk and shook his whiskers and shouted - "Now bring on that darn cate!" I'm proud to say I was not that little mouse last night!!!!

Day 64 - 301 Days to Go
Short blog tonight - got a busy day tomorrow so I really need my beauty sleep.
Got up, ate breakfast, went back to bed, had weird dream, got up again, showered (really needed it), transferred more tapes, cleaned out under the stairs, reorgazined the games, fixed some game boxes, dropped the entire box of Monopoly and had money everywhere (as well as tiny game pieces, made supper, picked up the son from the gym, picked up some buns from the bakery (that's right a real bakery - not just co-op)cleaned up after supper, finished shovelling the driveway (even though it's going to melt by Friday),practiced my line dancing, had an ahh haa moment, started watching CSI New York, got interrupted by soccer coach, sent out soccer emails, looked for jobs online (obviously had enough of cleaning under the stairs),caught up with a few friends on facebook, writing blog, and going to bed!!!!
Ok, so maybe it wasn't that short - just short format. Not a lot of thought process went into it, but it sure worked on my memory skills!!!
Body: 10,000 steps today, and I didn't order a cinnamon roll when I went into the bakery, even though they smelled delicous, and I ordered whole wheat rolls!!!

Day 63 - 302 Days to Go
Today was a day that started with good intentions. Then I woke up and looked outside. I don't think we'll be driving way down south today - I thought to myself. Having thought that, I pulled the covers up over my head, rolled over (sorry Maya) and went back to sleep for another hour.
Can't spend the entire day in bed (although it would be nice) Started on another tape transfer first thing in the morning. This is getting to be a time waster. Not for transferring the footage, but for sitting down and getting caught up in the moment. Today's tape was of the daughter again. (haven't gotten to the son one's yet)We were visiting Grandma and Grandpa's house. The daughter was just learning to walk and she used great grandma's walker as her stabilizer. Just seeing her with her grandparents and great grandma brought back wonderful memories. Thank goodness for cam corders at the time, because there is no way my brain has enough memory pouches to hold all this stuff. I'd forgotten alot of it. Brought a very big smile to my face, and a tear to my eye.
I think I am ready to pull my treadmill into my office; it is that organized. Maybe tomorrow will be the day.
Took the son for his 4 week haircut (trim - designs - whatever)A quick trip back home to shower off the excess hair and I was off for my travels. Dropped Susan back home (she has a schedule to attend to as well) Took the son to the APEX session and then headed up to my line dance lesson.
Well tonight we learned a new dance, but I also learned a very valuable lesson. There are about 35 ladies in the class. Like me, they are also beginners. There is one lady in particular who just seems very uncoordinated. At first I thought she just wasn't practising the dances at home. Then it occured to me, that maybe she just didn't have the co-ordination. But she arrived early this evening (as did I). She came over and complimented me on my "expertise". (which doesn't take too much in this beginners class)and explained to me she had a stroke a couple of years ago and she had difficulty processing the steps at such a fast pace. Talk about feeling small. I spent about 15 minutes helping her out and then during the class I over emphasised some of the steps to give her a better visual. I hope we can meet a little early next week to do the same.
At 7:00 ran out of there fast, but drove fairly slow and consistant all the way to the ABC to pick up the son from another soccer pratice. I think I love being busy, because I still have a smile on my face!!!!
BODY: 16,000 steps tonight! We did alot of dancing tonight. (as opposed to just learning steps) I may even join the class in an outing to Ranchmans to practise in front of an audience.
MIND: This quote seemed appropriate (forgot the author) "Never judge a man' actions until you know his motives!" I think I learned a very valuable lesson tonight - here's hoping I can keep this in my mind with fellow drivers!!!!!
Off to enter some radio contests and then in to bed.

Day 62 - 303 Days to Go
Happy Thanksgiving!!!! (If you live in Canada, I guess)
My old timers is setting in again today. I'm having a hard time remembering what I spent my time doing!
Hmmmm - oh yeah, making some cards; cleaning up the kitchen. Then the son, Susan and I went to Market Mall. Had a bit of shopping to do. Trying to get some Christmas present ideas for people that I need to send in the mail. If I'm going to get things to Texas, I may have to mail them mid November! Hopefully I can get a few things for the daughter's roommates in Peterborough and she can take them back with her! Didn't get a whole lot bought, but came up with a few ideas. Ran into John W checking out his lotto tickets. He is looking healthy and so much like his Dad. Had a nice conversation - catching up on kids and stuff!
Afterwards we went to Robin's for Thanksgiving dinner. I ate way too much. They was a nice size group there. Trevor was already there. He was Caylee watching while Alisa went and picked up Nana. Learned a new game - about apples - come to think of it, I haven't figured out why the game would have apples in the title!!!!! But never the less, it was alot of fun. Scary how much the son and Trevor think alike. Baby Caylee was tired, but doesn't matter how yucky, or grumpy, or tired she is, she has the biggest smile when she see's her mom!!!! I remember having that affect on my kids. It's the most amazing feeling. And to watch it, just warms your heart. Alisa is a great mom - the patience of a saint! Caylee is one lucky little girl - She is not going to ever feel unloved!! (and she's fun to spoil)
BODY: Got in over 12,000 steps. Probably half of that was from walking Market Mall and the other half rocking Caylee!
MIND: I thought this was very appropriate for a Thanksgiving Day. "If you can't be content with what you have received, be thankful for what you have escaped!" Amen to that one.

Day 61 - 304 Days to Go
Sunday morning, up with a lark. Think I'll take, a walk in the park. Hey, hey, hey, its a beautiful day!!!!! (if you like cold and snow)
I did not get out of my nightgown all day!!!!!! That's not to say I didn't get anything done, but what I did do, I did with my pj's on.
Still working on the office. Yes that's how disasterous it was and is. Doesn't helped that I get side tracked making a card here and there; doing a little soccer stuff; sneaking in a nap on the couch!!! And what a nap. I had the weirdest dream. We were sort of camping, and yet it was like a tent but with trailer admenities. A football game was going on at one side of the tent. And there was golf going on at the back of the tent. I kept going around watching the two different sports. Of course little things happened in between, but the sports were always going on. After about 2 hours I woke up. Turns outs, whilst I was napping on the couch, Bill was watching the television. Can you guess what he was watching? Golf - then football - then back to golf - then back to football!!!!!! I must have been hearing the television while my dream was going on!!!! Too funny.
Bill borrowed a movie from Anne. "The Talented Mr. Ripley." I remember enjoying it the first time I seen it at the theatre, although I did forget the ending. It wasn't the fantastic the second time. I think when it is a thriller, once you know most of the answers, it loses something the second time around. While we were watching the movie, Bill was helping me transfer VHS family movies to DVD. We borrowed a machine from Anne (she is a source of everything - espectially information). It took quite a while to set the machine up and figure out how to work it. Ok, we actually didn't figure it out that well, because it turns out we taped two hours of a home renovation show. We'll try again tomorrow.
BODY: The best thing I did for my body today, was avoiding the desserts that were in the fridge. Fruit, yogurt and a few triskets were my choice of snack food today!!!
MIND: As we were trying to transfer the home videos, we got a chance to see a few clips. OMG - the one we put in was when we lived in Lloydminster and Ashley got her table and chairs from Santa!!!!!!! I smile as I think about it now. I think I'll add "watching home videos" to my list of things that make me smile. Look out people when they get transferred, I'm going to be watching and sharing more and more.
Hectic day tomorrow.

Day 60 - 305 Days to Go
What an early start to a Saturday, even for me! I woke up around 4:30 (that's am to teenagers) and started thinking about how to organize my office. As I tossed and turned, I couldn't get my mind clear of how and what to do with all the stuff I have collected. After about 20 minutes, I realized I wasn't going to fall asleep so I decided to get up and get started! After all, it's Saturday, I could always nap later. Well it's 11:05 pm and I am sitting in the middle of a disaster. Don't get me wrong, I have accomplished alot (considering I took a 5 hour break), but there is paper and dust bunnies and more paper (I thought it would only be the dust bunnies that multiplied so fast!) I took a stand and through out a lot of notes from my EA Course. I realized if I hadn't looked at most of the stuff by now, I probably never would. Besides with so much information on the internet now, that is usually where I go for information. I also decided to clean out my collection of kids books, teaching games etc. I have a keep pile, and give away to charity pile, and a "look out Alisa, Caylee is going to have lots of books, games and teaching tools. My goal is to have this room straightened around by the end of Monday.
So the five hour break was spent over at Anne and Brian's house. They graciously offered up home once again to host Thanksgiving dinner. Anne did an excellent job on the turkey. It was one big bird and so moist. We missed having Jane and Ashley will us. Jane is in France on a school trip and Ashley is still at University. She'll be home at the end of the month. But we did call her to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving. After dinner, Karen reminded us about going around the table and saying what we are thankful for. I had totally forgot about that. She also reminded how we did it last year, and all of a sudden I felt like that had been a few days ago, not an entire year. This time last year, Mom was still in the hospital fighting to get better. Despite her eventual outcome, she has come along way. What a strong woman. So we went around the table, and said our pieces. The son, who wears his heart on his sleeve was the bravest. He was thankful that Grandmas was feeling better today. I think we were all thinking the same thing, but it almost didn't need to be said by all - it's always a constant thought and mom is always in our prayers. I had difficulty coming up with an idea. It's certainly not that I have nothing to be thankful for, I have so much, I just didn't know where to start.
It was a great evening. Mom joined us for dinner; came back for dessert and was so talkative. If you didn't know her state, you wouldn't guess she was a very sick lady. We also pulled out the MJ table and convinced Grandpa to join us in a game. I think he was taken back in time to his gambling days with friends, because every once in a while he started to talk in Chinese to us at the table and we just kept going like we knew what he was saying!!!
BODY: I'm not sure feeding the body turkey is a positive thing, but I did limit myself to one serving of everything, except the spinach salad. I did get in over 8000 steps.
MIND: It's only Saturday, but because we celebrated Thanksgiving today, the quote by John F. Kennedy is very relavent. "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

Day 59 - 306 Days to Go
Friday is here. For some of us in the family, it is the beginning of a three day weekend. For some of us in the family, it is the beginning of a five day weekend. And for the remainder of us in the family, it is the continuation of a long, long holiday!!!!!
It was a chilly day today. Not what we'd hope for in October, but really with the beautiful September we had, not unexpected. I'm sure there is still warmer weather ahead before the Christmas season arrives.
Worked this afternoon with SC. It was chilly waiting for the bus, but we braved it and will be much more prepared next Friday. (maybe putting more than summer pants and leggings on)
Tbis evening Bill and I had a date night! We actually went out to a movie (as opposed to renting it) It didn't even contain violence (ok a couple of punches). It was the new comedy with Vince Vaughn, called Couples retreat. It didn't get great reviews in the paper this morning, but we seen the commercial on TV last night, and Bill and I found it funny. Well it did not disappoint. I might be a little bias because I really like Vince Vaughn. To me his character in movies is how I envision him in real life. He's just a likeable, down to earth guy. There were many laughs during the movie and at one point, Bill had tears in his eyes (from laughing!!!!!)
BODY: Got over 10,000 steps today! Will try and work in some ab work this weekend. There's some turkey dinners coming up!!!
MIND: Having a long over due date night, plus seeing the movie couples retreat, inspired me to find an appropriate quote for tonight. I thought this one by Bill Cosby, that famous thinker, was right on the mark. " That married couples can live together day after day, is a miracle that the Vatican has overlooked!!" Amen
Off to bed and some much needed zzzzz's

Day 58 - 307 Days to Go
Today was a very productive day. Got the back hallways cleaned out. How many pairs of shoes can one person own. Oh wait, those were my shoes. So they are all put in their proper space because I really only wear my comfy runners most of the time; except for line dancing, then those "roach killers" come out of the closet.
Also got the family room dusted and videos stored away. We must have bought every Disney Video that has ever been produced. I'd like to get rid of them, but every once in a while the kids pull out one when they are just vegin' out. So they are in a box in the furnace room (you know the room I cleaned out before and found extra space)I even put my OCD into play and filed the DVD's alphabetically. That was probably the most fun part of the day. I've also decided I am going to put all our family VHS videos onto DVD's. I'm going to borrow a machine that can do that, because paying 24.00 per video, is just crazy.
Soccer practice was cancelled tonight (wasn't my wish, but I am elated)so the son went to spend the night with his other family, the Sura's. I guess he'll be home some time tomorrow.
BODY: With all I accomplished today I would have guessed I put in over 10,000 steps, but my pedometer reads only 7000ish. I'll take it but I feel like it was more.....
MIND: Louise Hay quote "Remember, today is the tomrrow you worried about yesterday!" So I am making sure I have nothing to be worried about!!!!

Day 57 - 308 Days to Go
It feels like a Wednesday. Nothing exciting happened - same old house stuff. Did sneak in a bit of dusting, but I'm thinking it's time to invest in a new duster. I think mine has been around since Lloydminster days. Time to upgrade!!!!! Quick run to Co-op - saved about 8.00 in coupons. I love a deal!!!!!
BODY: Got over 12,000 steps in today. A lot of practising of the line dancing. I can see where my processing skills are being put to the test, now that there are 4 dances to know - what will happen when we get to 12! Yikes

Day 56 - 309 Days to Go
Ok, it finally happened. I forgot to write my blog. Do I have an excuse - I can always make one up. My only reason "I was darn tired and went to bed as soon as I got home!" So pretend it is still Tuesday night!!!
Had a great day today (if it was so great, home come I didn't remember to write about it) My morning started off with a visit from Alisa and Miss Caylee. They arrived a little early so we could visit, but once Alisa discovered she had a mom brain, she had to run out and pick up a bottle and formula for Caylee!!!! Been there, done that! Caylee was soo much fun. She is at that stage where she is trying to copy everything you do. It's a good thing babies can't remember these moments when they get older, cause the things we do to get a smile!. Hopefully she won't need therapy when she's older to erase some of those images! She is a smart one! Did I mention cute too.
It was also Line Dancing night. We are up to 4 dances and I'm loving it. I can't wait to practice on Wednesday.
Headed over to the soccer dome afterwards to catch the first tech practice. Put my managerial duties into play, and then relaxed and watched some soccer. The team looks very energetic. Here's hoping for good things. Had a short visit with Uncle Brian and Susan afterwards as Jane was having her practice. Needless to say it was a little late when we finally got home. I was tired, my feet were tired (stood the entire time at soccer - after an hour of line dancing in my cowboy boots)and my mouth was tired - from smiling at Caylee all morning.
BODY: Over 13,000 steps again today.
MIND: My mind is in such a peacefull place right now. It's funny how one incident (babysitting Caylee) can have such a positive effect on the rest of your day!
Won't say night, but did count my thankfuls!

It's a good thing babies can't remember these moments when they get older, cause the things we do to get a smile!. Hopefully she won't need therapy when she's older to erase some of those images! She is a smart one! Did I mention cute too.
It was also Line Dancing night. We are up to 4 dances and I'm loving it. I can't wait to practice on Wednesday.
Headed over to the soccer dome afterwards to catch the first tech practice. Put my managerial duties into play, and then relaxed and watched some soccer. The team looks very energetic. Here's hoping for good things. Had a short visit with Uncle Brian and Susan afterwards as Jane was having her practice. Needless to say it was a little late when we finally got home. I was tired, my feet were tired (stood the entire time at soccer - after an hour of line dancing in my cowboy boots)and my mouth was tired - from smiling at Caylee all morning.
BODY: Over 13,000 steps again today.
MIND: My mind is in such a peacefull place right now. It's funny how one incident (babysitting Caylee) can have such a positive effect on the rest of your day!
Won't say night, but did count my thankfuls!

Day 55 - 310 Days to Go
Missed an important phone call today. I hope they call back again!!!! If it was meant to be, it will happen.
Got alot accomplished today. The best part of my day was after we arrived at the soccer center. I got to play with the little kids. The MVP camps were running a little short of people so I helped out Alan's group. It was so much fun. Had I known that Judith needed help with the older group I would have stayed and helped with that too.
BODY: Over 13,000 steps on the pedometer today. Mostly from chasing 3 and 4 year olds and trying to get them to stay together as a group. It was exhausting but so much fun! I miss being around the little ones.
MIND: Playing with the little ones was the best thing I did for my mind today. The other is: "Don't stop believing!" A song by the band Journey. If you happen to see Oprah today, you'll know the story I'm talking about. Journey has a new lead singer and he is amazing. They found him on the internet! Living in poverty in the Phillipines. This song, video and story is very inspiring and comes full circle in this young man's journey! (no pun - yes pun)

Day 54 - 311 Days to Go
This staying up til midnight has got to stop. My goal tomorrow will be to have the posting done by 10:00. No pressure, but I'm gonna' try.
I actually slept in this morning - til 7:30. Missed two phone calls - ok, I must have gone back to bed, because nobody would call that early. Cleared the kitchen and cleared the "air". Seems I had read something more into something that was little. thankfully I decided to deal with it instead of letting it brew. Boy have I come a long way!!!!
We stopped in and visited my mother-in-law on the way to the soccer dome. She was laying down but wanted to get up and join us. She decided distributing some of her jewellery was an important thing to do. It was nice to see her up and moving around.
Had to go and get my id picture taken for soccer (being manager and all). Ran some errands and then visited my mom for an hour. Headed back to the soccer dome to watch an Eagles exhibition game. Had a nice visit with Wendy Brown again. Boy I sure do miss being on the same time as them.
Headed home for soup and sandwiches and relaxed on the couch. What a nice way to spend a Sunday evening.
BODY: I got over 9000 steps in. Why not just top it up to 10,000. Well I wanted to get all the soccer stuff done so I wouldn't have to look at it for a couple of days.
MIND: Relaxed with Bill and the son after supper, watching some television. I guess you consider it watching television even though some one is flipping through the channels over and over and over.
Off to list my thankfuls!!!!!

Day 53 - 312 Days to Go
I know this may seem late, but actually I didn't forget tonight for a change!!!! A very laid back day today. The son had a couple of friends spend the evening. I thought sleeping in til 7:30 was great, but 11:00 was even better for the boys. I kept my promise and made them a nice breakfast in return for them not sleeping out in the tent last night. I know it was cold and wet, but they were determined teenage boys out to prove me wrong. I bet they wouldn't have been sleeping in as long if they had been outside.
Had a nice visit from BFF Janice. We ate breakfast together and visited. After she left, it was of course time for a quick nap. Even with sleeping in till 7:30 I was still tired from going to bed late.
I was a soccer party in the eveing with the old crew!!! It's still nice we can get together and enjoy each other's company. Most of the boys are on different teams, but they still seem to get a long. They are growing up fast though.
BODY: Hmmmmm - 8000 steps today. I guess you could call this a day off. I practised the line dancing for a bit, but without knowing the entire third dance, it was hard to keep it up. Practised the other two, but anxious to get on learning more.
MIND: Right now my mind is not in a good place. Had a disagreement on the drive home. (not mentioning any names) Can't decide to just let it slide and move on or deal with it. Everyone was tired, and it wasn't a big issue, but enough to put me in a bad mood at the time. I tried the smiling; it helped a little; tried thinking of my Maui and cute little cuddling babies; worked at little more; Margaritas - yup working a little more. You really can't stay mad when you smile. I'm trying but the smile is already pasted on my face. Now I just have to forget........I'll save that for the morning.
Night all - a little TV and I'm off to bed!!!

Day 52 - 313 Days to Go
Friday has come and gone!!!! Where did the week go.
Another calm day and not much action!!!! Yes Bill had the day off, but he had appointments in the morning and golf in the afternoon! (hahahahah)
I worked this afternoon. Took the bus downtown. Boy it's been awhile since I did that. Thank goodness SC knew where we were going, because I was getting a little nervous.
Stopped and picked up pizza for supper. Just seemed like the Friday to do that.
Anyway the son has a couple of friends over and they are watching scary movies so they want me to finish up quick so they can turn the lights out and be scared!!!
So this will be a short blog tonight!

Day 51 - 314 Days to Go
Romantic Day with my Husband!
That is the title of this blog!
My husband informed me that he was taking Thursday off work. I felt a little special to think he'd give up the daily grind just to spend the day with me. (He said he was burnt out and needed a couple of days off work)
Bill got up early and took the son to school and headed off to the gym. (doesn't miss a work out for nobody)
I made him a lovely breakfast whilst he hung his aroma filled workout clothes on the banister for all to see and smell! (thank goodness for the onions in the eggs)
After tidying up quickly, we headed out for a nice romantic jaunt to 'THE DUMP' Ahh memories, we haven't been to the dump together in years. Imagine my surprise when he asked me to get out of the truck to help him lift something from the back of the truck!!! The flapping wings of many, many seagulls and magpies reminded me of the "the birds!" That had to be the best $10.00 we spent all day!!!
Next it was off to Costco, cause lord knows I love to shop when we're together. Picked up the pictures and Christmas presents I ordered. Looked at a few electronic devices but walked out of the store after 15 mintues and empty handed (didn't even dine on the free food down the aisles.)
Future Shop was almost a "sale" for me, but turned out the discontinued laptop wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Left it at the till with a shocked salesman who couldn't believe Bill told him "Nobody should buy computers from this store."
Last stop on our outing was Canadian Tire! Sort of a quick version of Bath and Beyond - NOT. What was needed in this varity store - golf balls! Isn't that season over yet!!!!!
We headed home, grabbed the Maya and took her for her daily jaunt! Can you imagine my surprise when we got to the fork in the road and we each wanted to go a different way! Since I was in charge of the leash, we took my route! Of course Maya and I were walking a little too fast (called exercise) and Bill lagged behind about ten feet. (income emails on the blackberry) The romantic walk!!!!
Now we're home, eating lunch - looking out the large back window. What a beautiful lush view. How romantic! "Hey" the husband annouces, "Look no wind!" And yes, he was out the door with his big bertha (that's a golf club).
The son and I left for soccer before Bill arrived home from his round of golf.
It warms my heart as I write this blog to know, we will always have this day, this memory!!!!!!
BODY: With all the walking I did, I was over my 10,000 steps before I left for soccer around 5:30. I removed my pedometer at that time, so I know I must be close to 100,000!!!!!!!!!
MIND: Despite what my sarcastic blog sounds like, it was a nice relaxing day with my husband. And it has been a long time since we did errands together. I'll take what I can get of his time, especially during golf season.
