It's now Saturday.
Very similar day to the Friday. Nice breakfast, time at the pool, and lots and lots of walking.
The show for the day was Jersey Boys. Excellent show. Of course it was at the opposite end of the strip.
Throw a little bit of shopping in. Picked up a couple of things for the kids.
The weather was great through the entire trip. Thank goodness for air conditioning.
At the end of the day I was down a total of 5 dollars.
BODY: Over 25,000 steps today
MIND: I lost track of date and time through the entire trip.

Day 360 - 5 Days to Go
The start to our Friday was early (for one of us).
We headed out for a late breakfast.
Most of the afternoon was spent at the pool.
Then a little gambling - by the end of the day I was still up 6 dollars. (this is just in betting money)
We had a buffett supper at the Flamingo hotel. Why the Flamingo, because that's where Donny and Marie were playing. That was our second show. It was great also. The best part was being in the Flamingo show room. It still had the booths like you see in the old movies. We shared a booth with an older couple. K, there were alot of older couples there. Wait, I'm old!!!!
Learned that I could join a new club - it's the Donny.com group. Will get on that this week.
By the time we got back to our hotel we had chalked up more thatn 28,000 steps. And to think some people try doing this in heels.
BODY: did I mention over 28,000 steps
MIND: I had tears in my eyes at the Donny and Marie show. I think it brought back a lot of memories from my teenage years, and watching the show as a family. Or, I'm still in love with Donny Osmond.

Day 359 - 6 Days to Go
Left pretty early this morning for Vegas. The daughter dropped me off at the airport around 5:00 am. Had a stop over in Phoenix and that's where I met up with De. I was supposed to stay on the same plane, but not sure how that mix up happened. Anyway De and I boarded the plane for Vegas.
Flights were painless; getting our luggage was painless, even catching a shuttle to the airport was painless.
Got checked in to our hotel The Excalibur. We tried to find the cheapest accomodations on the strip so we could use our extra money elsewhere.
We ended up trying the Black Jack tables in the afternoon. We were doing so well (in our eyes) that we lost track of the time and had to rush to get to our first show. I was up about $50.00 by the end of the night.
We went and seen O the Cirque show. It was really good. Because we hadn't had supper (the losing track of time thing will do that), we stopped for a small bite to eat on the way home - Sushi. The food wasn't great and the waiter was quite snobbish for our liking.
By the time we got back to our hotel, we were both tired and it wasn't long before lights were out.
1st day in Vegas was amazing.
BODY: Lots and lots of walking
MIND: Your mind is always on alert mode, otherwise people run into you.

Day 358 - 7 Days to Go
One more sleep. Very excited to be going on a girlfriend weekend with my girlfriend. We could be going to Timbuktu and it would still be exciting. (Thank goodness it is someplace warmer)
Busy day today. Didn't start off well considering how I feel. The son is taking all the heat for people sick in the house. I'm sure a little sun, alcohol and vegas air(cough cough) will help clear up this thing.
Dropped the on off at soccer coaching. I stayed for a few minutes to hand out the t-shirts and then left for Chapters. Put in a couple of hours and then home to sleep off the full head. Then it back to pick up the son.
The son popped a couple of pizza's in the oven while I slept. That's pretty much the day.
Got everything washed that I want to take and just finishing up packing.
Not sure if I'll have access to a computer before Sunday night but am taking a camera.
BODY: 10,000 steps
MIND: a little full, but the drugs are kicking in.
Good Night

Day 357 - 8 Days to Go
I can't believe it's already 10:55 pm and I am not even close to finishing what I should have got done today.
The day didn't start well at all. I woke up with my sore throat again. The son started it and now both the daughter and I have it. It better be gone by Thursday morning. Although I'm sure the alcohol will help.
Went to the soccer camp to drop off the son. I ended up staying all morning as there seemed to be too many little kids for the 2 instructors. The son actually took the older the kids and the other instructor worked with the little ones. We had a couple of wanderers, and one little guy who hurt his arm just going to get a drink of water.
I had planned to work at Chapters but came home for a bite to eat at lunch and a snooze to lose the headache. Woke up in time to pick up the son. Picked up supper on the way home.
Then after supper, drove the son to his soccer practice. I went to work cards at Safeways and finished up in 1/2 an hour so did my grocery shopping while I was there. 10% Tuesday you know. Saved 22.00. That's one drink in Vegas!!!!!!
BODY: Got a new battery in my pedometer - got it all set up and with the running I did today, made it over 20,000 steps.
MIND: Tired, very tired. A big smile on my face just thinking of meeting up with De.

Day 356 - 9 Days to Go
Happy Heritage Day (canada holiday for my American friends)
Everyone did their own thing today. The daughter got up early and went to ride out at the barn (she's helping train a new horse). Bill went to the gym. The son headed to Iron Mills Mall for a movie with friends.
After lunch, Bill and I went to the cemetery. I thought it would get easier, but it's still very fresh. I'll take the kids this week. We had to wait about 1/2 hour in the car as there is a grave right next to mom. It was packed with about 15 people. They were burning incense. I'm not sure what the ettiquite is, but it just seemed right to wait. It was pretty humourous to see one guy on his cell phone. Talk about poor manners.
Next stop was the Iron Mills Mall. Oh wait, isn't that where the son is. Bill has never been out to that mall yet. The last time he was in a Pro Bass shop was when we were in Dallas and they had the Christmas Tree decorated with dead animals. So we walked around there. There were some interesting characters. There was one guy who was trying to act gangster. He had the low riding jeans (really low) Now I'm not a fan of that look at all. But usually you see some stylish boxes. Not this guy. He had on tighty whities. Not attractive at all. I think it was actually the tighty whities that were making him walk funny, and not the low riding jeans. Could be wrong. Nothing really jumped out at us to buy. I did need a new battery for my pedometer. By the time we left the mall, it was packed and there wasn't a parking space to be found. Some guy actually followed us to our vehicle so he could get the parking spot.
Then we headed home via Stony Trail. That road now goes out farther than Metis Trail. We found that by accident.
The daughter was home when we arrived. Everyone was on their own for supper. Bill headed to the golf course. But of couse he came home after three rounds - why - rain, hail, lightening, thunder, etc, etc. The son and his friends were still at the mall. Thankfully the Dad of the driver called and told them to stay at the mall until the storm cleared up. I like to think that the boys would have thought have that all on their own.
We had a family meeting regarding the week ahead (the son was absent even though most of it was about him) Again we (I mean I) realized it is taking two of them to do all my stuff!!!!!!!
3 more sleeps!!!! til Vegas!!!
BODY: Had to get a new battery for the pedometer. So most of the walking was done at the mall. Did all my stretches again this morning though.
MIND: Louise Hay "The point of power is always in the present moment."
Good night

Day 355 - 10 Days to Go
Just a nice lazy Sunday (almost) Didn't get up until 8:00 am (the first time) and 10:30 am the second time. The daughter and Bill were gone when I got up the second time. Bill to the gym and the daughter - not sure where. Still haven't heard from her.
Got the bed changed and after lunch, dropped the son off at the mall with a friend. Ran over to Mom's to take her to the drug store. She needed a few things. Was trying to work the drug store trip into all my other errands, but Mom didn't seem impressed that I was organizing our trip around all my errands. Such is life.
Came home and BBQ steak and potatoe pouches. Delicious. Only Bill and I at dinner tonight. Son was still at the mall and well, the daughter is still missing in action.
Bill headed off to golf and I chose to clean the BBQ. Am getting tired of fire flare ups.
Was watching TV in my room, when Bill noticed a baby deer in the yard. I haven't seen one that small in a long time. It was too young to even be scared of Maya's bark.
Four more sleeps til Vegas - Cheryl - wish you were joining De and I!!!!! (not too late)
BODY: 10,000
MIND: Louise Hay "I see my parents as tiny children who need love." - ironic that this would be the quote for today.
