Weekend's over!!!! Son was playing in the All Star Game so picked up my niece Jane and we headed over to the Dome. The parking lot was packed and the Dome reflected all those cars. Jane and I went and watched some friends of hers play first and then waited for the son's team. Bill met us there and we made our way up to the top of the stands. There was some great soccer played. I thought Braden (from the same team as the son) had an amazing game. Black team won but the son was on the white team. Thanks for coming out to watch the game Shaunan and son and showing your support. Also thanks for taking my son to fitness. I understand he owes you some money!!!!!!!
I dropped Jane off at her house and popped home for a quick nap. Then we picked up the son from fitness and headed out for a family (minus 1) supper. The son picked Nick's and the food and service was great as usual.
We decided, and when I say we, I mean me, decided a family grocery shopping trip was long over due. Ok, we needed groceries for the week, we were all in the car, the timing was just right. Now I'm pretty good when I have the $25.00 off coupon for Superstore. You know the one; you spend 250.00 get 25.00 off. Well the goal is to get as close as possible to 250.00 so the savings is greater. Usually I'm about 10.00 - 15.00 over when I go by myself. Well, it paid to take the husband. He did the calculations and as nerdy as this sounds, $251.36 was the final number.........That feeling is almost better than................chocolate!!!!!! Hmmm, now tomorrow I'm going to have to do something with those groceries.
Got everything put away and sat down to watch the Grammy's. There are some talented people. It's not quite over and I don't want to ruin it (yet) for those who may have taped it.
Joke: Whats the difference between a guitar and a tuna fish??
You can tune a guitar but you can't tuna fish ..
BODY: Actually got some good stretching in today. While I was driving, I sneezed and turned my neck at the same time; not a good combination. I guess that was a hint for me to get more stretching in!!!! Some times stretching can be the best form of exercise!
MIND: "Music's the medicine of the mind." ~John A. Logan
Just try watching and listening to the Grammys and not feeling better!!!!

Day 172 - 193 Days to Go
What a relaxing Saturday. The last Saturday of January. Where did the month go?
When is groundhog day? I sure would like to know when spring is coming!
Got a few things accomplished today. The furnace room is less a few binders. Thanks Rose!!! The laundry room is a little fuller - thanks son for bringing all your dirtly laundry. One question though, if you brought me all your dirty laundry, why is your bedroom floor still covered in clothes????? So I'm going to start laundry tonight and when I am finished tomorrow, anything that wasn't in the laundry room will have to wait until next week!!!!!!!!!!!!! (That's the plan and I'm going to do my best to stick to it.)
Worked a little bit on my story. I had the son read some of it. He wasn't impressed. Said it was too factual. He has offered to edit it when I'm finished. Could be the next mother, son writing team. (Caroline Todd and Charles Todd: - A Matter of Justice)(Anne Rice and Christopher Rice) , just to name a couple .
Spent a good part of the morning getting my meal menu planned for the upcoming week. Not something I've done lately, but I have a very busy week and it seemed the best thing to do. So with a meal menu comes a grocery list. I'm going to drag the son and husband along Sunday night to do the shopping. Hopefully with them along I can stick to the list!!!!!!!
Tonight for supper was clean out the fridge night. Grabbed some perogies from the freezer along with some frozen baby back ribs. The son grabbed some frozen hamburger and vegetables and made a stir fry. Didn't really turn out to look like a stir fry, but tasted good. So instead we grabbed some taco shells and that's where the stir fry ended up. I left the son cooking while I quickly ran downstairs. Barely got into my office when the smoke alarm went off, which means the dog went off too. Apparently the son opened the oven door to check out the ribs and although they weren't burning, the sauce was "smokin". Ran upstairs and Bill had the doors open and was "vaccuming the air". It must have helped because the alarm stopped shortly after that. So then of course the alarm company calls, but when Bill picked up the phone it cut out. He was waiting for them to call back, but I encouraged him to call them back(I've played this card before) and ensure them it was a false alarm. So he did reluctantly. Got everything on the table and the doorbell rings. I knew who it was before I answered the door (and I hadn't combed my hair all day) Yup, it was the firemen. I explained that it was a false alarm and we had contacted the alarm company. They received the cancellation call, and cancelled all other trucks, but because they were already dispatched, they had to come out. Note to self. Be sure to call the alarm company asap and cancel before they dispatch the fire department. Oh wait, that's what I usually do................................................... It didn't help that when the nice young fireman called Maya cute, she tried to take a nip out of his gloves........
Enough excitement for one day, or even one weekend.
Watched a movie on TV "A Few Good Men." Now I'm pretty sure I've seen that movie 5 or 6 times, but I love it. It reminds me of why I fell in love with Tom Cruise...... and why I'm scared of Jack Nicholson. "I can't handle the truth."
Joke: Q: What word begins with the letter "F" and ends in "UCK"?
A: FIRETRUCK.
BODY: I'd like to think I got in 10,000 steps today. Unfortunately my pedometer fell off sometime around noon and I never found it again until after supper. But just in case it didn't, I think sleeping in until 10:00ish was just perfect for my body today.

Day 171 - 194 Days to Go
If there was ever a cute couple, it would have to be Kelly Ripa and Mark Consueloze.(sp) They appear to have the greatest chemistry. I hope the tabloids don't start trying to stir up stuff between them.
Anyway, back to reality. Got a few things done this morning. I'm back in that darn furnace room trying to make room. Organized the DVD's in the shelf; temporarily I hope. I would like to get one of those high stands that swivels (swirls) and holds maybe up to 100 DVDs. Then I would bring them out into the family room. Right now, they would be messy and all over the place if I did that. But as I organized them (alphabetically I might add) I realized there were a couple I would like to watch again. So this weekend in my catch up movie weekend. Plus I never got a chance to watch my "White Christmas" movie over the holidays. So I'm behind by two movies (one a month and maybe a review on the blog?)
I think I spent a better part of the morning trying to make the son realize I didn't have time to just plop myself down in the middle of the day/morning to watch Lost. (as tempting as it was) We would continue the Lostfest in the evening.
Worked this afternoon and then stopped at Co-op for some pizza for supper. Bill didn't want a big supper and the son wanted pizza!!!! It did hit the spot.
Finished reorganized some boxes in the furnace room. Anyone need binders? There must be an organization that takes used binders. They are in great shape and I just can't throw them out. Can you imagine all the companies that go out and buy new binders for every course they offer. People take the course, get the binder. After a couple of years, get rid of the notes and you have millions of unused binders. Hmmm, this sounds like a business or at least a volunteer type job to find binders for those who can't afford them!!!!!
So sat down with the son to watch more episodes of LOST. I must admit, having them on DVD and being able to skip commericals and continue at our own pace is a luxury. Tonight episode was when half the group moved into the middle of the jungle where there are caves and fresh water. I thought this would be where Jack and Kate finally kiss - but they didn't. I love seeing the flash backs and finding out everyone's story. Tonight we got a glimpse of Charlie - the rock star!!!!
JOKE: A man at the airline counter tells the rep. “I’d like this bag to go to Berlin, this one to California, and this one to London. The rep says, “I’m sorry sir. We can’t do that.”The man replied: Nonsense. That is what you did last time I flew with you.
BODY: Got the 10,000 steps in again today. I'm on a roll. Also did the stairs at Bow Valley. I wasn't huffing as much once I hit the 5th floor.

Day 170 - 195 Days to Go
I thought I was done with poopy diapers!!!!! Stuff happens at work.
Busy morning, but busy for all the wrong reasons.
Picked up the son from a friends house and drove him to school. Of course the plans were changed from the original plan. So I waited around for what I thought would be 30 minutes, but turned out to be 10 minutes. That was a nice surprise. So brought the son home. Had a bite to eat, cleaned up the kitchen, and checked my emails. To my surprise was an email from Bill. He was going to a dinner meeting. Oh shucks, I won't have to make a big meal!!!!!. I had soup (I could live on soup) and the son had the leftover quiche!!!!! Made for an easy afternoon.
Then tonight was soccer practice. I took a few things to do while I waited. Finished my valentines for the students in the pre-school. Then I worked on my story of my mother-in-law. Before I knew it, the boys were coming from their practice. Time goes by fast when you can get something accomplished.
Tonight I let the son talk me into watching more episodes of LOST. I believe we are now finished disk 5 of the first season. I think he's getting annoyed at all my questions. But I must admit, the son is good, I try to trick him into telling me what is happening next. So far, he hasn't fallen for it.
JOKE: Heard the cutest joke on the radio tonight. It was on some religious program that I just happen to come across. These students at a school were lining up to get their food at the cafeteria. At the start of the line, there was this large basket filled with large, red, shiney apples. In the basket, was also a note that was placed in the basket by the staff of the cafeteria. It read "Please take only one apple. Remember God is watching. So the students took an apple and moved on down the line in the cafeteria. At the end of the cafeteria line was another large basket. This one was filled with broken cookies. It too had a sign. This one was scribbled, and almost looked like it was written by a student in protest to the other sign. It read, free for the taking, as many cookies as you want. Do worry, God's watching the apples.
BODY: Got in the 10,000 steps today.
MIND:

Day 169 - 196 Days to Go
My weird number fetish is at it again. Check out the numbers 169 - 196. Numerology - it must mean something.
I had a difficult time getting out of bed this morning. No energy again. I really need to start watching what I eat----ahh the healthy body thing. Maybe too many diet pepsi's. Hmmmm. Withdraw symptoms maybe. Note to self.
Worked at the Hamptons School at noon. Two hours goes by very fast. Popped into Costco afterwards and picked up some photos. There was a coupon for 4 free 8x10's. Got some nice family photo's to put on my picture wall.
Came home made the quiche for supper and started working on Valentines. I love making valentines for the school kids.
The son headed out for a family dinner with his other family. He wasn't sure he should miss tech, but he's still healing that stressed hip-flexer, so the timing was good. Guess I'll see him in the morning.
Sometimes, it sucks to be so reliable. Just got invited to the Bahamas (with S) Would have to ask for two days off from the pre-school. I can handle that because I could work the following week on a Monday, Wednesday for the other lady. But then I realized it's also the week I was asked to sub for a lady at the Hamptons School. K, I know everything happens for a reason - would like to know asap what the reason was behind this conflict.. Maybe I'll buy a lotto ticket that week. Anyways, that for the offer S; the drink tab probably would have put me way over budget for the next two years though.

Day 168 - 197 Days to Go
How do you spell my day--- G-R-O-U-C-H-Y.... Why - I have no idea. Wait, that's not true. I'm tired, PMS'ing, tired, headache, tired, bloaty, tired. And did I mention tired. There are just not enough hours in a day and apparently a night.
Went to work this morning. The son is off still this week, so I didn't have to drive him. Good thing because he and a friend stayed up until 4 in the morning playing video games. I didn't hear them, so I can't blame them for being tired. Had a good morning at work. There is one little boy who I think has some sensory issues, and he does not like to be touched. Plus he is very independant so he doesn't like help, unless he asks for it. He is going to be my challenge this year - but I love it.
So came home, had a quick bite and got ready to go for a movie. Of course this all before the son and his friends tried to scare the crap out of me. I walked into the house and the son calls me over to check if his noodles are done. I should have clued in then, because he doesn't like me making his macaroni at all. So then he asks if I'll get the crackers out of the pantry. That should have been my other clue, because nobody puts crackers in their macaroni. I open the door and the two friends yell boo. I think I swore, but can't remember. I did shut the door and lean on it for a while. Not sure who was being punished then. AFter all, they were in my pantry with my food!!!!!! So they got me!.
Then I met S-H-A-U-N-A-N at the movie theatre. Now if you haven't seen the movie "up In the Air and you plan on it, you may want to stop reading the blog about now. We get to the theatre and I have a pass for two free movies, popcorn and two drinks. Turns out Tuesday afternoons moview are only 6.99 so the attendant suggested we save our passes for when it's full price. Ok. So then I figured I'd being paying an arm and a leg for popcorn and a drink. Not sure. AGain on Tuesdays there are deals. So for 7.99, we got a large popcorn, medium drink and a kit kat. So my free afternoon at the movies wasn't free, but it was a lot cheaper than normal. The theatre had maybe 6 of us in it. Actually 6 1/2 if you include the baby. And she did rasberries through out the movie. Somehow she knew the exact time to do them. She was a happy baby. So the movie was good - not great - but good. George Clooney was great - not good - but great. He is handsome, but he also has this "thing" about his personality that just makes you like him. I didn't care for the ending, because his romance was going so good, I wanted them to end up together. That would have been the best ending. But we never find out how he ends up spending the next years of his life.. Did he change, hmmmmm. I guess because it's George, he can turn out anyway he wants, and he'd still be "dreamy." Jason Bateman doesn't make a good boss. Maybe because I still remember him from the Valerie show. The actress that plays Rose from Three 1/2 Men was a sister to George. She makes a better crazy person, than a helpless bride. K, that's my review. Overall, the afternoon was very nice. But boy did I need anp when I got home. First, the son had to be driven to soccer. So then I came home and napped. Bill picked up the son from soccer, said he didn't need supper so I was able to relax for the rest of the night. (I was so tired, I didn't make it to Line Dancing tonight)
Watched my Oprah show taped from Monday. It was with Rosie O'Donnell. Now I know there are a lot of people who don't like her. But I still do. She reminds me of me in alot of ways. Doesn't think before she talks.... Then as promised the son and I watched another episode of Lost. Ok, I might be getting into this. Maybe another episode in the morning before I work at lunchroom at the local school.
Off to bed, because despite my two hour nap, I'm still tired.
BODY: Napping is about the best thing I have done for my body today. Didn't wear the pedometer, but usually work days I have over 10,000 steps.
MIND: Louise Hay "I prosper wherever I turn." Today was a good example. I didn't realize how inexpensive movies on Tuesdays were. Plus Shaunan bought me some new gravy to try!!!!!!
Good Night

BODY: Napping is about the best thing I have done for my body today. Didn't wear the pedometer, but usually work days I have over 10,000 steps.
MIND: Louise Hay "I prosper wherever I turn." Today was a good example. I didn't realize how inexpensive movies on Tuesdays were. Plus Shaunan bought me some new gravy to try!!!!!!
Good Night

Day 167 - 198 Days to Go
Mondays can sure be busy. Despite needing to leave the house by 2:00, I managed to get a lot done around the house before then.
Of couse then it was soccer, soccer, eat, soccer.
Had time to sit for a tea with S-H-A-U-N-A-N while the boys were in fitness. That was about the only time I relaxed today. I did try to grab a nap between MVP and APEX. But it was darn cold in the car, and I only had a blanket. I used to carry a sleeping bag in the car when we did horse shows. I guess I might have to bring one of those back into the car until outdoor season starts. Oh wait, I remember out door season soccer. I may still need a sleeping bag.
Worked a little bit on my story today. If I can do at least 1/2 of that each day,......
BODY: 15,300 steps. Good Job Stacey
MIND: Louise Hay "Today I practice forgiveness, and I learn to treasure myself."
Good night
