Day 2 of March

Thank goodness for relaxing Sundays. Last week was a very hectic week, but a fun one!
Our friend Freddy and his daughter Lizzy arrived safely on Tuesday. Poor Lizzy was sick as a dog though. She went to bed as soon as she arrived and I don't think she left her room until Wednesday morning. The good news was she was feeling much better. So I drove the two of them off to Chinook mall for a day of shopping. No sales tax in Alberta makes shopping that much more appealing. What a good Dad Freddy is for spending the day shopping with a 17 year old girl.
Thursday and Friday the two of them went skiing to Sunshine and Lake Louise. They had a great time in the mountains (nothing quite that size in Montreal) and luckily the weather warmed up just a tad. Friday night they arrived home; quick shower and were off to a Flames game with Bill. I was in bed by the time they got home; Then Saturday morning, they slept in a little bit, and they they were off for a 1/2 day of skiing at Nakiska. Not quite as warm, but just as fun.
Needless to say the two travellers were tired when they got back to our place; but what trooper to join us for dinner with family. Freddy brought up a large brisket of Montreal Smoke Meat from montreal and that along with Poutine; pickles; smokies; Spruce Beer ; wine and cheesecakes of all types, everyone was full. Freddy tells great stories and kept up laughing with his tales of his son and friends.
Bill drove them to airport around 11:00 and thankfully their flight was on time; no delays and have since arrived home - to no doubt relax.
I woke up around 3:00 am to discover Bill was awake and uncomfortable with having such a big meal close to bed. So we did what any married couple, who has been married for 25 years would do - we talked. Bill was going to get up and work on the computer but I convinced him to stay in bed. I got a 2 hour lesson on " horizontal.....well drilling" and what it means to frac." Now some of you might think these are code words for something else; but alas no - I can hold my own in a conversation now about finding the "zone" And through out the conversation, only once did I get a "duh" when I was asking a question.
Needless to say, Bill didn't head out to the gym until 10:00ish; and it was 1:00 pm when I crawled out of bed for the second time. I love these Sundays.

Stacey!
