2009 was an eventful year. If I had to go by my memory, then it wouldn't have seemed so eventful; and I would have only remembered the bad things. Thankfully a lot of stuff was written in my blog. So in no particular order, here are some of the events (good and bad) of 2009

The daughter is still in Bahamas on her course, but we had a chance to talk on Facebook and she is really busy but having a great time.
Claire popped over with Sam and we had a toast, sang a little, laughed a lot.
Got all my paper work done, and now I'l ready to relax
BODY: Got my 10,000 steps in and did the treadmill for the second day in a row.
MIND: Reflections of the past year!!! Eric Hoffer "However much we guard ourselves against it, we tend to shape ourselves in the image others have of us. It is not so much the example of others we imitate, as the reflection of ourselves in their eyes and the echo of ourselves in their words."
Happy New Year Everyone

Day 141 - 224 Days to Go
Thought I would get the blog done early tonight because I have a feeling I'm going to be falling alseep watching TV.
I sure do miss Mom Wee. For many reasons; some obvious and some not so much. But I'm glad she's listening, cause she's been hearing a lot from me lately.
I guess today's topics are a little vague, but I don't feel comfortable exposing the reasons on line, and that's ok.
Today was a nice and quiet day. Watched a really good movie/documentary. It was on my Christmas list and I got it. It's called religion by Bill Maher. It is very thought provoking and confirms some of my own beliefs.
That pretty much covers today. One more day before 2010 is upon us.
BODY: Only got in 9000 steps, but did get in 30 minutes on my treadmill. Hopefully I can keep that up.
MIND: Guilt, like worry, is an emotion that is created by our imaginations following an event, or non-event. It is a feeling that comes when you feel you have not done something, or you feel you have done something badly – it is what is generated when you feel unsatisfied with your performance.
For the record I do not feel guilty. Without going into explanation, I'll leave it at that.
Early good night

Day 140 - 225 Days to Go
Not a very exciting day today. Finally got the Christmas stuff picked up off the family room floor and put under the stairs. Robin came over for a visit. We worked on our singing skills with the SingStar game for PS 3. I can't wait until we are hooked up to internet (can't believe I'm actually saying that) and I can download some Motown and Country songs. (this part I can believe) Abba and Queen are ok, but not my favorite music now (or then)
The son had a couple of friends over, so made some supper then they took off to a movie. I just relaxed in the evening, rested my eyes and then picked them up. What goofy teenagers. As I was giving them a ride home, I stopped in at a gas station for a pepsi and the son and his friend went in with their 3D glasses on. The both cashier probably thought he was being robbed by the men in black (glasses)
Still waiting to hear from the daughter on how her couse is going. I know she arrived safely, but curious as to how her diving is going. No doubt she's tired at the end of the day. I bet she gets some great pictures.
Bill went and picked out the new furniture for the family room. It gets delivered in two weeks. Now I'll never be able to get the son out of the family room.
Better get off to bed so I can finally get something accomplished tomorrow. Might have to make a Costco trip!!!!
BODY: 10,00 steps, but barely
MIND: AFter Bill left to take the son and his friends to a movie, I climbed into the jacuzzi, filled it to the brim with hot water, turned on the jets and just layed back on my foam pillow. Can close my eyes now and still feel the relaxtion that brings.

Day 139 - 226 Days to Go
I'm sorry son, I'm sorry son, I'm sorry son, I'm sorry son, I'm sorry son
I'm pretty sure the son doesn't read my blog, but I did actually give these sorry's in person.
Thank goodnes (or not) for technology. It all started, when around 5:00 pm I telephoned the son and he didn't answer his cell phone. Then I sent him a text and he didn't respond. So I tried his cell phone again and he finally answered it. I asked him what time he was coming home and he said he sent me a text earlier in the day and it said he'd be home around 6:00. I told him he didn't sent me any text and we were actually talking on the phone earlier but he didn't give me a time. We argued back and forth a couple of times, and I said it didn't matter, just wanted to know when he was coming home. Well he got home around 5:30 and we had the discussion again. I was adamant that we had talked on the phone.
My story happened like this: Bill and I were in Lazy-Boy furniture; my cell phone rang; it was the son; he said he was meeting his friend at the mall; I asked which mall; he said Market Mall; I said, Oh too bad cause Dad and I were at Northland Mall. i asked how he was getting there; he said by bus and he was already at Dalhouse station. He said he see us later. HANG UP
The Son's Story happened like this: He texted me to tell me he was going to the mall with his friend and he'd be home at 6:00. I phoned him on his cell; I asked which mall; he said Market Mall; I said, Oh too bad cause Dad and I were at Northland Mall. i asked how he was getting there; he said by bus and he was already at Dalhouse station. He said he see us later. HANG UP
We went to both our cell phone details to confirm things. The cell phone confirmed the son's story, but I was still adamant it happened my way, and there must be something wrong with the phone system. Then all of a sudden, the blur started to disapate.....maybe he was right. My phone did ring, but was it the text ring? Hmmmm. Still not convinced........ but maybe I did phone him. Based on the evidence, I believe it must have happened his way, but I swear I have no recollection of the string of events. Hence, my next subject!!!
Dementia Symptoms
Progressive memory loss
Inability to concentrate
Decrease in problem-solving skills and judgment capability
Confusion, severe
Hallucinations and delusions
Altered sensation or perception
Impaired recognition (agnosia)
Impaired recognition of familiar objects or persons
Impaired recognition through the senses
Altered sleep patterns
Maybe it's time to start recording these incidents, you never know what else I'll forget!!!!
Despite the drama from this afternoon, the day went on. We were invited over to some friends for dinner. The Sura's put on a terrific meal. French, with all the courses. What wonderful food, great company, and so much fun. We even sang Christmas carols after dinner. There was musical instrucments for everyone; guitar, organ, piano, drums, saxaphone, bells, tamporine, maroco's. I hope we won't take so much time to get together for the next time.
BODY: Over 13,000 steps today. Probably from running errands in the afternoon.
MIND: Louise Hay "I let go of all expectations." And what a wonderful night it turned out to be!!!!

Day 138 - 227 Days to Go
What a busy day! Bill and the daughter took off really early this morning to go skiing at Lake Louise. That allowed the remainder of the family to sleep in; and we took advantage of it. But both the son and myself were up and ready to leave the house around 11:00. We had some shopping to do. We bought the son a nice wool jacket from Le Chateau for Christmas. I thought I was doing so good with the size, but turns out he needed a large to cover those long, long arms of his. Luckily the store had the size he needed. And of course since we were there, the son might as well use his gift cards he got for Christmas. I on the other hand was just trying to track down the SingStar game for the PS3. I needed a version with songs that I know. I wanted the country version and Legends Version; came home with Queen and Abba. I've still got Ma ma mia stuck in my brain. Now if I could just get a chance to get on that TV. We have four tv's in this house, but everyone wants (or needs in my case) the new one. I'll just have to wait for school to start and Bill to head back to work.
Bill drove the daughter to the airport tonight. Her flight doesn't leave until 1:00 am, but with all the "security breaches" on flights in the U.S., all news sources and emails from the airlines suggested a three hour pre arrival time. Hopefully her flight gets off in time as she has another flight to catch at 9:00 am Toronto time. It was a nice visit having her home (except for our little blurp last night) There always has to be one of those.
BODY: Got my 10,000 steps in today. Mostly from walking Market Mall and Northland Mall in search of my music.
MIND: Loiuse Hay "Everyone I meet today has my best interests at heart." I can actually give proof of this one. While on my trek for my music today, I would enter a store and have a quick look at the shelves to see if there was any stock. If I couldn't see anything (or even if I could see the game, but not the one I wanted) I would ask a staff member if they could check their inventory. Well in the EB Games at Northland, I went up to a staff member and asked if they carried SingStar. Momentarily an elderly man walked up behind me carrying a copy of the game and asked if this was what I was looking for. He didn't even work there, he just heard me and happen to see the game (or maybe he was stocking me)
Late Night, but I'm off to bed.

Day 137 - 228 Days to Go
Happy Boxing Day! Did I venture out. Not. I don't like the crowds before Christmas, I don't think they are any better on boxing day. Besides, the daughter borrowed my car all day (and night) Thats ok, I got a few things done. I swore that I was going to leave most of the Christmas decorations up until after the New Year, but since we aren't having people over at New Years now, I decided what the heck. So slowly I am trying to get things put in boxes. I'm going to be a bit more organized this year. I've got a box for all the things to decorate the house. A box for tree decorations. And a box for miscellaneous stuff. That would include some of the kids homemade stuff that I have kept. Some years I put that stuff out, some years it just stays in the box.
I got most of my presents put away. I don't think I mentioned, but Santa brought me SingStar for the PS3 that he brought the kids. Two microphones included. Now I just have to find some music and songs I know. The game that came with the microphones only has a couple of songs I know. But I have learned the strategy of the game. It doesn't matter if you don't know the words, as long as you follow the tune with the bars (you don't really have to even be on key) It can sound pretty funny sometimes. I think the son and I are going to check out a couple of stores tomorrow. (I know crowds will still be out) But the son needs to return his coat for a large. His arms are just too long. The daughter and Bill are going skiing tomorrow morning. I guess sleeping in probably won't happen. But I'm certainly not complaining cause Shaunen had to work tonight and she forgets to sleep period, never mind sleeping in.
BODY: I thought for sure I'd have over 10,000 steps with all the cleaning up stuff, but nope, I'm just over 7000. Hopefully I'll make up for it tomorrow.
MIND: Louise Hay "My Higher Self pilots my life!" But like real life I sometimes get taken over by terrorist's (negative thoughts) Thank goodness I've been able to avoid disaster so far.
Early night tonight
(had a nap, so I don't think so)

Day 136 - 229 Days To Go
Merry Christmas Everyone
I sure do miss the days when the kids were awake early, and we bugging Bill and I to get up as Santa had been here. Not quite the same air of excitment, but they were certainly enthusiastic once we got into the groove.
Had a nice Christmas dinner at Ben and Karen's house. There was a house full; must have been 16 people there. Great meal. Had a nice visit with everyone. Sat down and had a good talk with Dad. I noticed he was looking at a few pictures of him and mom. I must admit, before we got to Ben and Karen's I didn't think it would be easy to celebrate without Mom there.
Ended up playing MJ after dinner. Enough people wanted to play that we were able to get two tables playing. Before long it was 10:30 and thought it was time to head home and check on Maya.
Am working on my Christmas review. Will try and get some portions put in the blog tomorrow.
BODY: I didn't have any desserts at Ben and Karen's. They sure looked delicous though.
MIND: Louise Hay "I open my arms wide to receive the full measure of prosperity that the Universe offers."
Good night
