Well the sun is shining and the snow is melting - but not fast enough to work in the garden this weekend, I'm sure.
Like Father, like daughter. They are getting to be more and more alike. The daughter and son went to the gym this morning (yes in my car) and then she dropped her brother off at school. She tried to inform me that she was doing me a favor because I wouldn't have to drive the son to school. Bulletin alert - I don't drive him to school on Friday's - he takes the bus. Anyway, the daughter shows up at home with my favorite drink from Starbucks. When you want to get out of the dog house - buy Stacey something!!!!! not!!!!! Yesterday a GPS system from Bill; today a hot drink from Starbucks. I give up!
I am in much better spirits today. It's funny what a good night sleep and a couple of drinks will do. (Just joking on the drinks - but maybe tonight) I did want to share a great product. I stopped at Costco yesterday and decided to buy some mascara. I usually don't buy make-up in bulk, but...yesterday it was a day to do it. So this morning I tried the new mascara. I really like it so far. It is by Loreal and it's called telescopic Explosion mascara. A very small applicator brush, but the results are amazing. Just thought I put something useful in the blog for a change.
The rest of the day just flew by. Got my bathroom scrubbed down - top to bottom - drawers cleaned out - plants pruned, the whole nine yards.
The son and daughter went shopping to the mall in Balzac. They had some money from Grandma's estate that they needed to spend on clothes. I don't think they had any difficulty with that. The son came home with 8 shirts; and no extra hangers.
Bill then took the kids shopping for new runners - there was a great sale somewhere.
BODY: In addition to the new mascara, I am also trying a new face cream. First day was today. I did a face mask and scrub first; toner and then this cream by Garnier. It feels really good.

Day 261- 104 Days to Go
10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 - count backwards and slowly and you'll feel the tension, anger disapear!
I learned a very valuable lesson today. Actually I learned two. Lesson number one, never lend your car out while you're at work and hope that it will be back in time when your finished work. Yup, I lent my car to the daughter. She was supposed to have it back before I finished work. Now on a nice sunny spring day, waiting wouldn't have been such a big deal; but today was one of the worst snowstorms we've had in April in a very long time; lots of snow and cold. 15 minutes she text me; I'm running late. In that length of time (and I know she'll be later) I could be home. So by the time she phoned me to tell me she was on her way, I had already walked to the LRT; taken the LRT and was waiting for the bus to pick me up. Told her just to meet me at home. It was a good thing, because it gave me time to cool off before I said something I might regret later. Second lesson I learned - in the spring I could probably take the LRT and bus home if there was nothing urgent I needed to get done. I will definetly keep that in mind.
So made my way home in the blistering weather; didn't help my sore throat any. I climbed into the hot shower, then my PJ's and then my bed until I warmed up. The son and I watched an episode of Lost, but it wasn't enjoyable. There were things I should have been doing.
Once Bill got home I headed out to run a few errands and then met them at the restaraunt for a family dinner. 30 day party for baby Noah. I really wanted to hold him, but my sore throat held me back. I will be looking for cuddles next time I see him.
The daughter left with the truck and headed to meet friends and the son drove Bill and I home. I am so ready for bed.
BODY: I didn't wear my pedometer today (just as well because it would have gotten lost in a snow bank), but I'm pretty sure with all the walking I would have surpassed my 10,000 steps.

Day 260 - 105 Days to go
I love Wednesdays. Wednesdays are the new Fridays for me. It's the only day where I don't seem to have something planned. I wonder if I can keep that for the entire spring and summer (I can dream)
So I did something really stupid today. I'm always telling the kids not to open files. Well I thought this was different. Not sure why. Ok, I do know why. I got an facebook email from a friend, whom I recently connected with. We went to junior high and senior high together. She's a fairly religous person. So when I get this email from her I thought it was some kind of farse. If the message it said something to the effect "stacey, you've got to see this." I have never received a message like that before, so I thought it was a good joke. Turns out it was a scam and the horrible part was it went to friends on my facebook page. I only heard back from De (sorry De) and I checked with a few other people and they never received anything. So now I'm curious how and who this scam picks. I tried to send a short message letting friends know of my stupidity. The sad part is, now I'm afraid to send anything to people - they will think I'm always sending "spam/scam" whatever you want to call it. The only consolation for me, "I've learned a lesson - I hope."
I finally got a call back from Clairvoyant kim's office with my next date. She is so busy (because she's good De) I can't get in until november. I should have booked way back when I first decided I was going to do this again. I'm going to start making a list of questions now!!!!
So I got a few things done today; I really didn't have much choice, the daughter went out to the barn to ride Mac so I was pretty much stuck at home. I finally got the son and Bill's chocolate chip cookies done. We were going to BBQ for supper, but this lovely Calgary weather made it a little cold. So we had hamburgers from the frying pan. When I say we, I mean everyone but me. Why? Because my daughter has given me a sore throat. She arrived with this cough and I caught that yesterday and today it has developed into a sore throat. Urrghhh.
I also got some scrapbooking done. I did up a page from when Bill and I went to Seattle. It turned out quite nice. I also got a couple of pictures frames for Bill and a friend. I got a great deal yeasterday on frames at Michaels. Regular price was 17.00 and I got the frames for 2.49. 8x10 frames with a mat for 5x7 picture. They were clearance items - cherry wood. I only bought two, but should have bought more. I almost got hosed because they rang in at the checkout at 7.99, and of course they had to run around the store to confirm the 2.49 price.
BODY: Oil of Oregano for the sore throat. Hopefully I took it soon enough.

Day 259 - 106 Days to Go
My car was home when I needed to leave for work this morning. I knew the daughter was going to get up eary and go to the gym. Was hoping she'd be home in time and she was. So headed to work and after I stopped in at Costco to pick up some pictures and Michaels for a few crafty things.
Pitter patter in the afternoon and then the daughter and I headed off to pick up the son for a school soccer game. The weather started out dark and dreary, but by the end of the 3-1 loss, the sun was shining through somewhat.
We stopped at Y2K to pick up dinner and headed home in rush hour traffic. Bill was still golfing so it was just the kids and I at the dinner table.
What are the chances that the daughter would stay home for one evening - not great. She headed out to gymnastics and it was 2 episodes of Lost for the son and I. I really hope Kate appreciates what Sawyer did for her by jumping out of the helicopter. Off to bed and hopefully lose this slight headache that was started by standing out in the rain I think.
BODY: almost 9000 steps tonight. I really could make it to 10,000 if I wanted to do so.
MIND: Louise Hay "It is safe to look within. The inner creates the outer ? always."

Day 258 - 107 Days to Go
Chaos is back in this house. Actually the daughter is back in the house and now the house is chaotic! No soon picked her up at the airport and she needed the car. So we headed home after the airport, she unpacked - I supervised. Just realized we need alot more hangers in this house. Between the daughter and the son and their clothes. The daughter dropped me of at my dentist appointment. It was here that I heard the most absurd questions ever asked - "So we're putting on the permanent crowns (2) today, would you like freezing?" I should have said, "No I like the feeling of total pain rushing through my body as you spend 30 minutues trying to remove temporary crowns and replace and fit new ones!" So I got my freezing - only it was a little too close to the nerve endings and I felt this shock go up the middle of my bottom lip. The dentist even knew what happened. She must have got her first indication when my entire body flinched and tensed right up. The good news was the freezing would take faster and last longer - yeah!!!
Of course all professionals like to admire their handy work and I was also asked for approval on the crown color. So I was given a mirror and told to have a look before they permanently attached them. I took the mirror, quickly held it up to my mouth; and just as quickly put it down and commented they were just fine. Both the dentist and her assistant started to laugh and asked why I didn't want to take a good look. My answer was quick simple, I thought "If the color is wrong and you have to take them out, send them back and redo this entire procedue (needles for freezing and all), the color was just right.
So I left the dentist office with a squinty eye, and a drooling mouth. It was actually refreshing to know the daughter would be driving home; even if it was only 5 minutes away.
Can you guess what I did next - yup rested the mouth on a pillow. Got up before the son got home from school and made supper. Only one home to eat was the daughter as I had to leave to pick up the son for soccer and Bill was going golfing. Guess there will be leftovers for tomorrow.
Took the son to apex training and ran and got a few groceries from Co-Op. I was feeling a little bad when I left the store. The gentleman who was pushing my cart looked like he was going on 91. I felt like I should be helping him - and so I did. Good on him for not wanting to sit around and be retired!!!
The rest of the evening went by fast - more soccer; put away groceries and cleaned up from supper for 1 (2 if you count the son who ate after he got home at 9:00 pm)
BODY: Sat down and enjoyed a nice cup of hot green tea. Needed to unwind.

Day 257 - 108 Days to Go
I'm sorry did I fall asleep and dream it was December!!!! No, we just got the normal April weather for Calgary. Two feet of snow - wet, white, I'll melt by supper time snow! It was perfect snowman weather - but alas, people weren't in snowman making mode - more like "work in my garden" mode, so the weather wasn't very popular. I'm still blaming it on Bill and his golfing though.
The best part was the son's soccer practice got cancelled, and the son and Bill were able to come to Caylee's 1st birthday party. There were munchies and punch (sometimes google can be trustworthy), and a catepillar cup-cake - surprise. Alisa did such a good job on the cupcakes. They look and tasted just like the ones Ben and Karen had at their wedding! Hmmm, Alisa, maybe there is a home business in there somewhere!!!! Caylee's main priorities were the boys and the food - we must be related!!!
Came home after the party and got stuff ready for the BBQ. I tried a new recipe for the chicken that we had gotten from Seattle. It was good, but not worth saving (didn't cry out "wonderful") so will move on to new experiments. I did like the wet wood chips (fruit flavor) that we got from Seattle. They kept any flames that might have started on the meat. Will try those again. (gave everything a smoke flavor)
Watched an episode of Lost before supper. Then sat down as a family (it's getting more and more difficult). Held our family meeting to see what's going on this week - soccer and golf. Another two weeks, we'll throw in my line dancing and who knows when we'll see each other again!!!!!!!! Time to stock up on some ready made dinners for the revolving restaraunt.
The son wanted to watch another episode of Lost after supper and I wanted to play a game of cards. So we did what was only fair - we played ping pong and the winner of the best out of three got to pick. So let me tell you about the Lost episode. -----one word "confusing!"
The daughter arrives home tomorrow morning - must remember I'm the one picking her up!!!!
BODY: Ping pong with a purpose. We had some great rallies, but I haven't been able to beat the son in a long time.

Day 256 - 109 Days to Go
What started out as a 3 game school soccer tournament, turned into a five game tournament. Normally I don't go into all the soccer details, but I'm sure Miss S-H-A-U-N-A-N will appreciate it. So Friday night the boys won their game. What I then heard from the son was there would be two games this morning, this Saturday morning. So the boys played Western Canada first and it was tied at the end of the game 0-0 so they went to a shoot out and won. Then they played another game right away against E.P Scarlett and they won that game 2 - 0. That's when I found out there would be other games at other fields. So we popped into Tim Hortons for a quick bite and a quick pee!!! Then it was off to the third game of the day - against Abrehart. What a surprise to see some of the club boys. Had a nice chat with them and Cliff. The boys were tired by now, this was after all their third game in a row. Luckily they pulled it off and won 1 to 0. It was a tough one though. Then as the sky began to turn dark and darker, the boys were playing right away again against Fowler. The game wasn't nearly as exciting as the last three games; (maybe because we were sitting in the car to avoid getting wet from the lovely present from the sky!) The Fowler team, wasn't an exceptional team, but our boys played their kind of soccer and pretty much didn't seem to put much effort into it. It could have been a combination of a couple of things - 1 - they were tired and 2 - they had to wear different jersey's to avoid a white on white jersey game! Fowler got to keep the white jerseys. We could also blame it on the rain, but really, both teams had to play in it. (maybe it's because we the parents sat in the car - naw)
So that is how the soccer day ended - 4 hours longer than I had anticipated. The only bonus was the company for the day!
Stopped for pizza on the way home because I was pretty sure the BBQ wouldn't seem attractive in the snow tonight. Plus Bill had gone golfing and who knew what time he'd be home - yes even with the snow!
Bill came home shortly after us, and he and the son ate and I snoozed - all that fresh air.
Got up had a quick bite and then the son and I watched three (3) yes 3 episodes of Lost. I don't know who to route for again Ben - or Widmore. They are both good liars. At least Sawyer showed up in a couple of the episodes.
Two more days the daughter will be home.
Off to bed as the tiredness is setting in again.
