Blog 7 of June

The weekend is here.  Mind you, everyday seems like a weekend to me now!
Had a coffee date this morning with my friend Rose.  I haven't seen Rose since Monday and our infamous "removal" from the family who cannot be named.
I picked Rose up at 8:30, a quick pit stop at Tim Hortons in Northland (and yes it was actually quick) and we headed over to Rose's new acquisition. I love the new house.  It's a small bungalow, but as soon as you walk in, you can see where it is going to be a wonderful home.  As soon as I walked in the side door, I recognized a smell that I can only describe as "old."  Now don't get me wrong, "old" isn't a derogatory term. I'm not sure what other word to use, and I'm sure there is a more flattering one but you could tell it had belonged to an elderly person at one point.  It reminded me of my Grandma Fraser's house (maternal grandmother).  Grandmas and Grandpa Fraser used to live in the "train station" house in Carmangay.  As scary as this big place could be, it also holds wonderful memories of some great adventures.
I took a quick tour of the house with Rose, and I was pulled back in time when I opened the wooden closet doors.  The yard is large and is going to provide a wonderful scenery of flowers, trees and I'm sure some creatures with wings and without.  Thanks Rose for giving me the tour.  I love this place and the neighborhood, I wouldn't change a thing.   I can't wait for the first "break in" party.  I'll bring the fruit beer!!!!!
Before we knew it, three hours had come and gone.  The time just flew by.  We caught up on a lot of stuff. I was even reminded of one of my favorite Elton John songs "Benny and the Jets."  Rose's husband showed up to do some more reno's and we headed back to our part of town; roof down, Bruno Mars serenading us.
I arrived home to an empty house, except for Maya.  Gobbled down some lunch, quick nap/cuddle with Maya on the couch and then I headed out to the garden.  I've decided I think I am a weed snob.  There are some weeds that annoy me, and other's that, I think put in the correct place, might actually make some bare dirt look nice.  Today was not the day to pick and choose which weeds I wanted to keep.  They all got pulled.
So I've plugged in my wax machine and I'm going to soak my feet and give myself a pedicure tonight.  Why, because I'm worth it.!!!!!!
Happy Saturday.

Stacey
