Spruce Meadows. We are very lucky to live in a city with such a wonderful facility. I started my volunteer job today. It was the first day of the show, so the momentum in the lounge was a little slow. But, I did meet some wonderful people. There was one young man who was working as host/security. He's on 21, but a very mature 21 with a great personality. I must remember to bring a picture of "Penny" and who knows......I think they would make a cute couple.
When you are a member of the general public, and you sit and watch a horse show, you have no idea the number of people "behind the scenes" that make everything run so smooth. It has been a few years since I have walked around Spruce Meadows and they have made a lot of changes. I may have to borrow my nephews and do a field trip here. There is even a playground area for the kids. I am volunteering again tomorrow to help out. Hopefully i won't get caught up in the rush hour traffic like I did today. Although in thinking about it, it really only took me an hour to get home. It could have been longer.
Another great part of my day at Spruce Meadows was seeing Ashley. We didn't get to talk for long as she is one busy lady, but she did pop in a few times to see how I was doing. So proud!
Spent a good part of the evening cleaning out my computer. It doesn't take long for emails and pictures to accumulate. I have enough art work pictures to start my own art gallery. I guess cleaning off my desk should be next on my "tidy up"list.
After Bill finished golfing tonight, I followed him to the Hyundi dealership so he could take the car in to get an oil leak checked. It was after hours so he had to drop it off, fill in the form and drop of the keys. We pull out of the parking lot and Bill starts looking for his phone...... After a quick trip back to the dealership, and a call to Patrick at home, we were relieved to discover it had not been left in the car. ....... And we wonder where Patrick gets his antics from......
Well busy day tomorrow, more volunteering, visit with Mom and hopefully a quick stop in one of the card stores. Sounds like I should be getting ready for bed.
PS
De, I'll send you a detailed email shortly and fill in some work blanks for you..... or you could wait for the book version...might be coming out in paperback. lol
Stacey
I can't wait for the book version. That could take years to get through publication! ;-)
