It is the 2nd day of November, and to date, we have only had 1 tiny bit of snowfall. I think we are still in Calgary! Luckily the day there was snow, I didn't have to leave the house until the afternoon and by then the snow had melted.
MEMORY: 18 years (and some odd days) Patrick celebrated his first Halloween. He wasn't quite walking yet (I guess at 5 months that was a big expectation) but he went as a cat. He had a black onesy and I put black socks on him. Then I took some black material and made a tail and pinned it to his bottom. Lastly I took some cardboard and cut it into ear shapes and covered it with the same black material. I attached the ears to black elastic and put in around his head. Ashley went as a Ninja turtle. Again using green clothes she had as the base costume; I then took a tin roaster and covered it with green material; used Bill's black suspenders (I think they were the suspenders from his wedding tux) and somehow attached them to the roaster and Ashley wore the shell. A mask and green gloves finished off the costume. I vaguely remember that the mask was a different color, because Ashley was a big follower of the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles and I'm pretty sure she was her favorite "Michaelangelo". Now I know some of you are impressed I can remember her favorite, but it is stuck in my mind, because that is also the name that she had wanted to give her new baby brother!!!
It's only Wednesday, but a busy week all the same. I love all my jobs, but boy trying to stay organized for all of them takes more time than I had imagined. It's not the jobs that keep me busy, but the organizing and staying on top of the details. I worked monday at the soccer camp; all the coaches dressed up in costumes, because it was Halloween; here was my costume. I dressed in brown pants; brown socks; brown shirt; wore a string of leaves all around me; I had a birds nest on my left arm and a stuffed bird on my right arm. What was my costume - De, use your imagination...............................................................................Wait for it..........................................
I was "An Empty Nester!". Of course the bird on the one arm was one of those kids trying to get back into the nest!!!! I know the three and four yeas olds thought I was a tree - and that's ok too, but sometimes I just like to make myself laugh......
Today is a busy day again - cards, soccer and food for Bill. He's still unemployed, but I think he is starting to grow into this roll and he might even be enjoying himself. It helps that I'm out of the house for most of the day too.
Well if this day is going to get off to a good start, I better get on the treadmill and make some headway.
Happy hump day!
Stacey
