Day 2 of November

MEMORY: 88 years ago today, in 1923, my mom Helen Zoback was born. She was born in Lethbridge. Her Mom and Dad (Edith and Jim) were living at Jim's parents place at the time. Edith and Jim had no car and there was lots of snow that year. Edith went to Lethbridge before her due date and stayed with a friend of her mom's named Mrs. Fiester.
I'm so grateful that I took the time a few years back to sit down with my Mom and go through our history. The best process was to look at pictures together, and Mom would have memories about or around the time the picture was taken. I then took all the pictures and divided them up between myself and 3 siblings and made a family book. I treasure this book and look at it often.
Also on this day in 1918 my Dad, Edward Zoback was born. Dad would have been 93 today. Unfortunately we lost him in 1983 before he turned 65. To this day, I still think of cool it was that both Mom and Dad had the same birthday...
So Saturday night was the time to turn back the clocks one hour. So instead of being awake at 5:30 am, I woke up at 4:30 am. I tried to go back to sleep, but really I figured I might as well get up while I had the energy and do some stuff - I can always nap later. The day if going to be filled with household chores and then we are taking Mom out for dinner for her birthday. What do you get someone who is turning 88, lives in small quarters, doesn't have a lot of wants, except for being with her family - a dinner out with her family of course. I might have to sneak her in one of her Chi-chi's again. She just loves those.
Well off to get something done because the sun rises (and my eyes close once again)
