Day 1 of July

Day 1 of July and it just happens to be July 1st!!!  Happy  Canada Day to everyone.  I was going to say, how sad it is that we need a day created in order for us to remember how lucky we are to live in a great country.  But then I realized that's exacly what we do with people birthdays.  The birthdays remind us to celebrate people that are special to us.  What a world it could be if we could remember to do all the celebrating every day - who would have time to fight!!!!!!!
Even though it is Sunday, it feels like a Saturday - where did I lose my Saturday.  I had great intentions yesterday. I did go into work for 4 hours in the morning.  In the afternoon, I headed over to my sister-in-laws, Anne.  She was making one of her chinese recipes that Mom used to make.  Between the two of us (her working and me supervisig) by the last 8 rice rolls, everything was turning out right.  i just might have to try those at home.  Then she and I and Brian and Jane headed to the hospital to visit Auntie Iris.  We just found out she had been admitted.  She is another one of those great ladies.  So strong and to see her so tired and thin was a little sad.  But, she got out of her bed, and took us to the visitors room to visit.  After about 30 minutes, the nurse arrived to take some of her vitals, so she scooted us out of the hospital.  Sending lots of love and positive energy out to Auntie Iris.
Then the four of us met up with the Yips and headed for a bite to eat.  I wasn't too hungry so I just had a bubble tea and some salad rolls.  Just the right amount to hit the spot.  By the time I got home, it was around 9;30 pm - too late to work in the garden and too late to clean the car (so I told myself)  And I guess that's where Saturday went.
It's hard to believe it was a week ago that Bill and I went to see Dave Coulier.  (Uncle Joey from Full House)  It was a great show.  We got seats right up front, and I wasn't too concerned, because I had heard that Dave's show was pretty tame.  I didn't think we'd have to worry about being heckled.  Oops, I forgot there was an M.C./opening act.  Her name was Laurie, and I was a little afraid when she walked up to the stage, because I recognized her from my trip to Fairmont with Janice for our ladies weekend.  Yup, it was the same lady and I slowly slid down in my chair hoping she wouldn't notice us.  But to no avail.  She asked if we were a couple; yes I said; how long you been married she asked?; hmmm I know it's more than 25 so I told her 28; (oops only 27)  She then asked what does Bill have that has kept me around so long----------now I could have got the show going - knowing this ladies mind - but I didn't - I tried to keep it clean, but really, it didn't matter what I said, she was going to have her way with us - and she did.  Moving on.  Dave followed Laurie and the rest of the night was calm and pleasant.  I did feel a little sorry for Dave, because he was only maybe 3 or 4 feet from us and I think I stared at him all night.  I just couldn't believe Uncle Joey was standing in front of us.  He did make a comment in the middle of the show about farts or something and I said (I thought under my breath) that is such a guy thing to say. He must have heard me, because he started laughing, and said quietly intot he microphone - I told you poop talk is always funny.  At one point during his show he was talking about feeling at a low point, and someone yelled out "Alanis Morrisette (sp).  He had a great comeback - "You are like a wing man, aren't you.  You've been wating all night in the wings to yell that out."  In case people didn't know, Dave and Alanis went out a long time ago.  Bill didn't know, so I had to explain the significance to him in the car.
Anyway, it was a great show and despite the calmer side to it, Bill had tears in his eyes from laughing - Dave can do some amazing voices, and I think Bullwinkle must have been Bill's favorite.
So Bill just headed to the golf course, I've been out in the yard most of the day, maybe it's time for a nice soak in the tub.
Later
Stacey
