Day 11 of July

I cannot believe that July is almost over.  A couple of more days and all the fall clothes will be in the stores (or maybe they are already)
Friday we made a drive up to Banff for a memorial service for Auntie Ming.  What a great lady she was.  She is actually a great Aunt to Bill.  The service was beautiful and it was nice to see all of her kids and grandkids.  I hope we can continue to have family get togethers.  All of the older generation of people of leaving us and it is getting more difficult to keep up some of the Chinese traditions.
Speaking of getting older, I was talking to mom on the phone today.  She was trying to describe a person that had visited the manor.  There is a new lady in the manor and it turns out her son went to school with Bill and I.  I mentioned this to mom and she has been trying to see if the son has visited the new lady.  Last weekend, the new lady had a male visitor who had two small children with him.  I told mom that was probably not Bill's friend as he was our age.  So today when I was talking to mom, she mentioned that the lady had another male visitor and this time it might have been our highschool friend.  He was elderly with gray hair!  I reminded mom that he would be our age and she said she knew that.  We jokingly discussed the difference between old and elderly and Mom said there was no difference.  She reminded me that I am getting up there........ So I guess I am now officially elderly!  That would explain all of the aches and pains!!!!  Boy, talk about feeling like I need a cane or something!
Today I managed to get a start on my spring cleaning..... or maybe early on my fall cleaning.  I got started on the much needed inside window washing.  There has been one window that has been bothering me for a while. I thought it was dirty on the outside, but after I had the windows washed on the outside, it was still dirty.  So it must be dirty on the inside.  Turns out there is actually water in between the two window panes.  Great one more thing that needs fixing.  So the window is third on our list - behind the one garage door, and the router for the computer.  Maybe our house is now considered elderly too.!!!!
I'm hoping tomorrow to get out in the yard and pull some of those weeds; finish up the laundry; get the chocolate chip cookies baked (the dough is in the fridge - as least Ashley isn't home to snack on that) and work on my knitting - yup started knitting a few things again.
Better get to bed so I have the energy tomorrow to do all my chores.
Later
Stacey
