3rd Day of August

Well this is certainly one post I'm not excited about posting. We lost a wonderful man this morning. Bill's Dad passed away around 3:00 a.m. Friday morning. Thursday morning, Dad went in for scheduled surgery for an aneurysm that needed to be fixed before it became fatal. The surgery went well, a little longer than anticipated; then they realized Dad had no circulation in one of his legs so they took him back into surgery. Again, he made it through the surgery, but the doctors were concerced about Dad's heart (he had a heart attack many years ago). His heart was only working at half capacity. Around 1;30 this morning, Dad's heart stopped working; they performed chest compresions for about an hour, but could not get his heart working again. We got to the hospital just after Dad has passed. He head never really regained consciousness since the surgery. He did open his eyes once during the afternoon when Anne was visiting.
Dad was a very special man.... I've known him longer than I knew I own Dad. It's been a very sad day, but we've had a few smiles during our reminicing. If you are a betting person, I'd be willing to bet, he's already found a new race track.
Details should be in the paper on Saturday.
Later - and hug someone you love today.
Stacey
