Day 4 of August

First - I want to thank everyone for their kind words on the passing of my Father-in-law. I have been a very lucky lady to have chosed to be part of this family and to have had great-in-laws.
Today was a draining day for me. I felt like I could sleep for a week. Thank goodness I had a doctor's appointment this morning, or I probably wouldn't have left the house. We held Dad's funeral yesterday. It was a lovely service, with very few glitches. I got through the Eulogy; in fact I really made it through the service thinking of wonderful memories of Dad Wee. It is comforting to know he and Mom Wee are together again, and are looking out for their grandchildren. I didn't realize how hard it would hit Ashley - but except for a very good friend, and a another friend's mother, she has never really been to a funeral. She was a trooper coming up to be part of a poem that the grandchildren read.
After the service, we went back to Anne and Brian's home and had a chance to visit with lots of family and friends. I feel very blessed to belong to such a great family. They tell it like it is; what you see if what you get.
Around 4:00 Patrick and I left the gathering so he could grab his stuff from home and head to the airport. He caught his flight to Victoria. I was a little more emotional than I thought I would be; but once I heard from him last night; and that he had made it; things were good. Hmm; who is going to get the mail; who is going to change the poop boxes; who is going to listen to my "ranting". Thank goodness for Skype. Although, I tried skyping him last night; and he sent me a text saying he was busy skyping with his girlfriend; guess I'm second fiddle now.
As I mentioned I had a doctor's appointment today to get my annual prescription refilled. I have a new doctor now as Dr. Yee left his family practice last year. My new doctor is great. She listened to what I had to say; and whether she agreed with my philosophy of why I don't do check-ups; she accepted it. Although she did say it was in her job description to ask me every year. She is moving to Crowfoot as well, so it will be closer (when I see her next year).
Stopped in at Safeways to pick up some food for supper. We may have a few extra potoatoes left over as I totally forgot there would be no Patrick for supper. (his favorite) Just waiting for Bill to get home from work so I can run into work for a bit.
Tomorrow is Mom day time so I better get done what I need to get done.
Later
Me
