I cannot believe it is already the middle of the month. My apologies to Shaunan. I thought I had blogged a few days ago, but it must have been in a dream.
So I got my IPad - and I love it. I am going outside my comfort zone here. I have been updating my calendar, contacts and reminders on my Ipad, instead of my microsoft account on my computer. I used to be afraid that if I didn't have a back up for my hand held device, and it broke down, I would be lost. K, just talking about it has made me rethink my strategy. I'll get back to you on whether I keep updating both. Now before I get notes and comments on how I can do this quickly, I am going for a lesson on my I-pad next week. My goal is to be as efficient on the Ipad as the three, 2 year olds are that I play with every day. I actually took my I-pad to work on Wednesday, and I couldn't keep up with one little guy. I would try and show them this cute app. and he had his fingers on buttons before I knew what was happening. Then he'd swish his finger across and I'd be on a different page. The look of terror on my face had the Nannies laughing so hard. I have vowed not to bring my I-pad back to work with the kids until I'm as good or better than they are. I have been downloading some amazing apps for kids. There are a lot of free ones out there that are very educational. I can't wait until I can do it all.
Wednesday was a busy day, but it ended with a lovely supper and visit with some friends that I used to work with at PREP. We went to Edelweiss and the atmosphere was so relaxing. We met at 3:30 and before we knew it, 6:00 at rolled around. I love catching up and we were able to vent and laugh alot. I think I might start a monthly "Venti" night; where we can drink venti anything and just vent everything.
Thursday after work, I met with another girlfriend. We ended up back at her place with some coolers and more venting. Again, 6:00 rolled around and I headed over to Janice's for a quiet evening of reminicing. It was one year ago today that Janice lost her wonderful Dad. We went through some old pictures; through out some not so desirable pictures and then walked over to Moxies for dinner. I got a very important lesson on things a waitress shouldn't do. Janice and I had decided on a margarita and a belini. Now I'm not big on "little" drinks, so I asked if I got get a Moxie size. I explained that I wanted the bigger drink, but not the extra alcohol. Janice decided to do the same. The young, very young waitress assured us it could be done. 10 minutes later our young, very young waitress brings us our drinks. The drinks are both in very large glasses, but only 1/2 full. Hmmmm, as I wait for an explanation. Nothing. So I ask what happened to the Moxie size. Turns out the mix (for girly drinks) is already mixed with the alcohol, so you can't get just the extra "filling". Now one would think you would then serve it in a regular size glass. But maybe she was smarter than she let on. So I asked her to take the drinks back and just Moxie them, mix and alcohol. So the next drink, I just did the same. Good thing we ordered food. That was the next lesson. There didn't appear to be a steak sandwich on the dinner menu; so I inquired. Our lovely (did I mention young) waitress, said that was no problem we could order a steak sandwich. The next obvious question was how would I like it done. "Medium to well done," I responded. Well she wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. "We can't do that!" she says. You either have to have it medium or well done!!!!! Now I'm the first to admit, a cook or chef I am not. But really, how can you not get a steak done to your liking. So I ate my tough, small, slightly bleeding steak with a smile on my face. (the smile was from the 2 Moxie drinks) Thank goodness for great friends, because the night was still a great one. I ended up spending the night at Janice's - (maybe too much steak) and sleeping in my clothes. Not sure who fell asleep (or passed out) first, but 6:15ish came way too early.
I dropped Janice off at work and came home to find an empty house except for Maya and Ashley's boyfriend. I guess I wasn't missed!!! (wait Maya missed me)
Tonight is relaxing time. And looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
Enjoy
Stacey
