I had to find the perfect cartoon to go with this blog. I crossed another item off my bucket list. I have officially changed a tire by myself. Now granted it wasn't a flat tire, and I wasn't stranded out on some road in high heels and snowy weather. I put the snow tires on my car. Bill came home from work, and while he ate his supper,(which I cooked, with the help of Quiznos) I went into the garage and got everything ready. I plugged in the air compressor; found my lock nut for my wheels; got out the torque wrench; hooked up the whatchmacallit to the air compressor; jacked up the first tire; took the bolts off with the whatchmacallit; took the tire off; put the snow tire on; put the bolts back on with the whatchamacallit; torqued the bolts; lowered the car; and it was about then when Bill came into the garage. I finished the other three tires, but Bill did label the tires and stacked them back up. I am feeling a little proud right now. I think if I were younger and in great shape, a mechanic might have been my true calling. I love playing with tools!!!!!!! Hmmmm. maybe this is job number three for me!!!! I love a productive day.
If you've been following my blog, you'll remember our trip to Victorville to attend the wedding out our niece Linda. I talked about Linda and Ryan's, Uncle Wayne, the kookie uncle that was the life of the party. I just found out from Linda that Uncle Wayne passed away suddenly from a heart attacked two days ago. It took my breath away. I had received an email from his a couple of weeks ago. R.I.P Uncle Wayne, you were a force to be reckoned with!
And tomorrow is Friday, and it's girls weekend in Banff. Will fill you in on the details next week.
