Day 5 of November

I'm not trying to scare people, but only 37 days til Christmas.   I asked the kids for their wish lists.  Of course their wish list resemble their life patterns.  The most expensive item the son wants is $97.00 (cologne of all things) and the daughter $800.00 (telephoto lense).  In life, it was soccer vs equestrian riding...... I hope they made it onto Santa's "good" list.
I had a great time last night.  Went out with a few ladies from work.  One of the ladies is leaving Canada and moving back home to the Phillipines.  We met at China Rose for a buffet.  We arrived at 3:30 but the buffett didn't start until 5:00.  We headed to the Deerfoot mall to the Yangtze Restaraunt. While we were waiting for the restaraunt to open, we made a pit stop to visit Santa. He was a very good sport.

After dinner, we headed to the bowling alley "Lets Bowl."  It's off of Memorial Drive.  We had a lot of fun.  I think I have ten pin bowled before, but to be honest, I don't remember.  But I knew where to put my fingers in the holes (either I have bowled before or I watched an awful lot of the Flintstones in my youth)  I'm surprised there isn't a condition that bowlers have (tennis players get tennis elbow)  Those balls are quite heavy.  I bowled a fair game (we played two) but towards the middle of our second game, I decided to try a fancy shot - or at least not let my ball bounce on the lane.  Not a great idea.  I somehow twisted the ball and my fingers, and now I have a sprained.bruised thumb.  At least I have a war story to tell the family.
After bowling we headed out for some Kareokee.  It took us a couple of tries to find a place.  We ended up at a place in Temple - something Lion.  I was a little excited when we arrived at 9:00 because the place wasn't busy so I thought we wouldn't have to wait to long to sing.  But the actual DJ/person didn't start until 9:30ish and by then, the regulars had all shown up.  Our group got a couple of songs in.  But we had to leave arount 11:00ish because Jayne(Cinderella)  needed to be at work at midnight  It was a very enjoyable evening!

On a side note, Movember is in full force and I see where my son has joined the cause.  Here's a recent photo of his accomplishment.

Anyway, it's Sunday and I have a few things that I need to get off my plate.  And with the weather being as nice as it has the past couple of days, today would be a good time to get out and get them done.
