Day 4 November

This past week sure went by fast.  Before I knew it, Tuesday, November 6th was here and it was my Mom's 89th birthday.  Robin, Alisa and I took her out for dinner at Montana's.

It was a nice dinner and a nice visit.  Our waitress was just great.  She was so friendly and took the time to make Mom feel special.  She asked Mom to give her one piece of "wisdom" advice. Mom gave her 2:  First she said, don't smoke.  And the second one.......don't eat green beans when you're young, because when you get old and live in a seniors center, that's all they feed you.  Ahh words to live by.  I was talking to mom on the phone, and she is still thrilled with the birthday card she received from Alisa - it was one of those "sassy" ones from RPG (Papyrus) and mom has been showing everyone at the manor.  She's feeling pretty special still.
On a side note, December 6 was also my Dad's birthday.  Mom was born in 1923 and Dad was born in 1918.  He was five years older than mom.  While we were talking about it on Tuesday night, mom said that when she and dad were dating, Dad didn't belive Mom that her birthday was the same day.  He thought she just made it up.
It was also amusing to listen to mom talk about one of the ladies at her table.  She said this lady just isn't the same.  She seems to be losing her memory.  She'll tell Mom a story at breakfast, and then repeat the same story at supper.  So, I'm putting out the word right now........if I've repeated a story once, smile; twice - please tell me!
There is lots of snow outside right now.  Well not on our driveway because Bill was up at 6:30 am this morning using his trusty new snow blower.  I guess we'll never make friends with our neighbors now!  (unless he offers to do their driveways too)
Ashley hasn't been home all week.  I guess we'll see her tomorrow at the new James Bond movie.  I wasn't going to go, but then Ashley called and begged me to come.  I felt so special that she would want me that bad, but then she confessed that she didn't want Dad to feel left out (there is a whole group of people/couples going).  At least she is looking out for one of us!  Hopefully having missed the last 20 James Bond films, I'll still get the story...hahahahahah
Well, my desk is starting to spill onto the office floor. I wonder what it would look like after a snow blower was in here...hmmmmmm.
Off to clean up my office.
