Happy Valentines Day.
Had a nice dinner with the hubby. I made fried rice (it was supposed to be made Monday, but things kept popping up) and crab legs. Then we enjoyed a nice glass of wine (k, mine was mixed with ginger ale, to enhance the flavor (or mask it). This will be our 34th Valentines Day spent together - 28 or those married. That means we must have been together since I was 17---- oh wait, we have!!!!
It's hard to believe, but it has been 30 years since my Dad passed away. I can't believe it has been that long. I was talking to Mom tonight on the phone, and she couldn't believe it has been that long either. I remember the day, but more importantly, I remember a lot of good memories of my Dad too. One funny story: There was a soap opera on TV at the time. It was a spin off of Another world. There was a father and daughter in this show; a rich oil guy and his spoiled daughter - She called her daddy "Striker" and her name was Rennie (or Renna). For the longest time, dad and I used to refer to each other as these two character. I'm not sure how Dad knew about this soap opera, because he was always at work during the day.... There were times, when in my youth when I would go to work with Dad. He was an electrician, and he'd let me come along on jobs, and I got to pull wire or hand him his tools. : )
I saw an interesting "action" today. I was driving in the S.W. and a car went speeding by me. We eventually met up at a set of lights. Then this truck pulls up beside me, but behind this speeder. For a reason, unbeknownst to me, the driver of the truck gets out of his vehicle, walks up to the driver of the speeding car, takes their picture, then goes behind the car and takes a picture of the license plate. My imagination would have me believe the truck driver, caught the speeder doing something distracting in their car, and was trying to frighten them. I know that would freak me out. Another good reason for not talking or texting (of whatever else could be distracting) and driving.
Off to get some much needed rest.
Night
