Day 60 - 305 Days to Go

What an early start to a Saturday, even for me! I woke up around 4:30 (that's am to teenagers) and started thinking about how to organize my office. As I tossed and turned, I couldn't get my mind clear of how and what to do with all the stuff I have collected. After about 20 minutes, I realized I wasn't going to fall asleep so I decided to get up and get started! After all, it's Saturday, I could always nap later. Well it's 11:05 pm and I am sitting in the middle of a disaster. Don't get me wrong, I have accomplished alot (considering I took a 5 hour break), but there is paper and dust bunnies and more paper (I thought it would only be the dust bunnies that multiplied so fast!) I took a stand and through out a lot of notes from my EA Course. I realized if I hadn't looked at most of the stuff by now, I probably never would. Besides with so much information on the internet now, that is usually where I go for information. I also decided to clean out my collection of kids books, teaching games etc. I have a keep pile, and give away to charity pile, and a "look out Alisa, Caylee is going to have lots of books, games and teaching tools. My goal is to have this room straightened around by the end of Monday.
So the five hour break was spent over at Anne and Brian's house. They graciously offered up home once again to host Thanksgiving dinner. Anne did an excellent job on the turkey. It was one big bird and so moist. We missed having Jane and Ashley will us. Jane is in France on a school trip and Ashley is still at University. She'll be home at the end of the month. But we did call her to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving. After dinner, Karen reminded us about going around the table and saying what we are thankful for. I had totally forgot about that. She also reminded how we did it last year, and all of a sudden I felt like that had been a few days ago, not an entire year. This time last year, Mom was still in the hospital fighting to get better. Despite her eventual outcome, she has come along way. What a strong woman. So we went around the table, and said our pieces. The son, who wears his heart on his sleeve was the bravest. He was thankful that Grandmas was feeling better today. I think we were all thinking the same thing, but it almost didn't need to be said by all - it's always a constant thought and mom is always in our prayers. I had difficulty coming up with an idea. It's certainly not that I have nothing to be thankful for, I have so much, I just didn't know where to start.
It was a great evening. Mom joined us for dinner; came back for dessert and was so talkative. If you didn't know her state, you wouldn't guess she was a very sick lady. We also pulled out the MJ table and convinced Grandpa to join us in a game. I think he was taken back in time to his gambling days with friends, because every once in a while he started to talk in Chinese to us at the table and we just kept going like we knew what he was saying!!!

BODY: I'm not sure feeding the body turkey is a positive thing, but I did limit myself to one serving of everything, except the spinach salad. I did get in over 8000 steps.

MIND: It's only Saturday, but because we celebrated Thanksgiving today, the quote by John F. Kennedy is very relavent. "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

Happy Early Thanksgiving
Night!!!
Stacey
