Day 109 - 256 Days to Go

Saturday is usually the day to slow down after a busy week, but today was not that kind of day.
I spent the morning dusting and moving things around. I'm glad we're not in a hurry to get everything back in place; it makes the recovery mode of renovating so much easier and less stressful.
Bill spent the morning visiting and sitting with him Mom. She is in a very fraile state right now. The cancer has spread and it is depriving her of the use of many of her organs. I remember a time when the word "cancer" came up very rarely. Now, in this time, it is too common of a word. And it has taken on a identity of it's own. People no longer just have cancer; they have breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, throat cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, colon cancer and the list goes on. I think of Mom every day and send my energy her way. How she uses that energy is completely up to her.

This afternoon we attended the funeral of a brother of a very dear friend. As I say that, I make it sound like we didn't know Norman; but we did. The gentleman that gave Norman's Euology was a friend of Normans since elementary school. He spoke of his memories of Norman growing up. I too have great memories of Norman. When I met him, he was just a young man in High School. He had a great sense of humor and could spar with his wit with the best of us. I hadn't seen Norm in a very long time, but I'm sure he's moved on to his next adventure.
The son attended with us and although his memory of Norman has faded, his emotion of the Euology was touching. He made us proud by attending and showing his respect.
We had a chance to meet up with old friends and catch up on old and new news. I have made a note to be sure to follow up with our promises of keeping in touch and getting together in the New Year. Thank you Norman for reminding me that time is short and we should use our time wisely.

BODY:
I still haven't located the pedometer. But with all the walking up and down the stairs, climbing ladders and lifting heavy furniture, I'm keeping the heart rate up and the muscles toned.

MIND: Author unknown "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." Let's not make funerals the place the catch up with our friends.

Fairly early night 10:00 pm ,but exhausted

Night
