Day 88 - 277 Days to Go

Finally, I don't have to keep the secret anymore. This blog is a day late, but with a very good reason. I am in Dallas and have been since 6:30 pm Friday Nov 6. Surprise De. Early Happy Birthday. If this wasn't on my list of things I wanted to do, it should have been and has since been added. I am very lucky to have been able to fly to Dallas and surprise my good friend De for her 40th birthday. Granted she won't be 40 until December, but early is even a better surprise. So let me do a little recap. Arrived in Dallas Friday night; Todd and the girls picked me up at the airport. Went to bed early. So we got up Saturday morning early, and waited for another friend of De's to arrive. Todd and the girls drove up and Elizabeth and myself followed. We headed out to the lake house where De and six girlfriends were having a scrapbooking weekend. When we arrived they had just got back from a long walk. Elizabeth got out first and De was really surprised. Then I come out of the car, with a Halloween mask on. It took De all of 2 minutes to figure out it was me. I am so getting into shape after this weekend. What a way to be recognized. After some introductions, lunch and clean up, we headed down to the lake. Poor Andrea had a little stumble into the ditch, but thankfully she wasn't seriously hurt. It was one of those awkward moments where it seemed funny at first, but not knowing the extent of her injuries made you stop and wonder..... By the end of the evening, it had become humorous. The weather was so warm - how warm you ask - well I believe I got a little sunburn sitting on the dock (of the bay)! Made a quick trip into town to the local fair (played with some puppies, one of which was a chihuahua, enjoyed some gospel music and took in the smells of some great cooking. It was an early night (for some of us). Fajitas, mojitos, and sparkle crafts were the highlight of the evening.

BODY: Sitting on the dock and soaking up the sun was relaxing, and made for some down time.

MIND: Laughing......best thing for the mind. With this group of ladies, there was something keeping us going all the time (and not just the ladies who put stamps on the wrong part of the envelope.)

Although this is a day later than it should be, it was previously recorded manually and just needed to be added when a computer was available.
