Day 3 of October

Tuesday was a weird and wonderful day!

Lets start with the wonderful. I've been holding back this secret since my birthday. The kids bought me Brad Paisley tickets for my birthday. Well Tuesday night was Brad Paisley! He is one of the premier showman ever. And boy can he play a guitar. He played every song I knew. We had floor seats - they were way back (thank goodness for big screens). But at one point, he walked back to us and sat on a small stage and sang a couple of songs. He remembers when he used to go to concerts and what it felt like to be way in the back. I stood up on a chair to take his picture (no camera's allowed - yeah right) My date was Shaunan. What a trooper - not only did she barely know Brad Paisley - but she stood right along side of me all night - yes stood - nobody sat all evening.

I had mentioned on the previous blog that I won some tickets - well it was to Brad Paisley - Shaunan also won some tickets. We gave my tickets to Janice and Sam and then Shaunan gave her tickets to the Country 105 booth, so they could give them away to someone. What a wonderful feeling.

There wasn't a low point in the evening. Ok maybe two low points. The first was when I was standing on the chair, I slipped and the couple asked me "Mam, are you ok?" Mam - not missy, honey or sweetie, Mam. Then there was the cowboy beside me. I'm not sure but I think we are engaged. I swear the way he was sitting and rubbing calves with me, and the odd time a butt cheek. Why do guys have to sit with there legs so ----- what's the word ------open!!! If nothing else, it gave Shaunan and I something to laugh about.

Now this is the weird part, I'm driving home from the concert and I have a text from the son. He asks me to come and see him when I get home. So I call his cell. No answer. So I call the house phone - Bill answers (in bed already) Seems the son had another one of his bad headaches at practice. This is the second one in two weeks. Stress maybe - lack of sleep maybe - too much computer - maybe. Anyway when I get home is already zonked out. I try waking him and talking to him. I get a few answers out of him, but mostly babble.

The weird continues Wednesday morning - I wake the son up at 6:45 to find out what time he needs to get up. Seems he supposed to leave by 7:30, so he should have got up at 6:00. Clue #1. Then he asks why I never came to see him last night . Clue #2. Then to top off this weird morning, he has to go into my car to get his shoes, books, backpack, wallet, etc and the car remotes won't work. Great broken again. I'm starting to get fed up with these things - but both of them. So he opens the door manually - no alarm goes off. He tries unlocking the door with the inside lock - doesn't work - then I clue in. The battery is dead - . I suggest he must have left something on when he came home - talk about automatice defence - Not a chance he says!!!! I'm thinking with 3 clues, he obviously wasn't himself when he got home last night.

If I were brave, I'd pull out Bill's car, or pull over Bill's truck and start my car - but no.. So I call my favorite father in law and he is so kind as to come up and start my car. Thanks Dad, you're a gem.

So I spent the day setting up two new stores for cards. From 10 til 4:30. Busy but fun. One of the stores is a new one for me!!! Yeah. Needless to say I was dragging my butt by 9:00 at night.
