Another beautiful fall day in Calgary. Well at least it was up by our house. I talked to my Mom on the phone and she said it was windy where she was. Keeping in mind, I don't think she has stepped outsite today.
I called Mom to ask her if she wanted to go out - this was at 6:15 pm. She was already in her PJ's. I'm pretty sure I get brownie points just for asking. I heard the weather was going to get colder, so thought it would be a nice night to take her out. Oh well. I'll pop over there on the weekend. She was in great spirits, except for this nagging cough. She may have to get her thorax drained yet.!
Worked at the preschool this morning. Found out one of the little boys is leaving. I was just starting to get him to talk too. He doesn't have a lot of english, and is very shy, but he smiles and gives me high fives when he comes into the class room. His mom picked him up today and was very appreciative for all the school has helped him with. Both parents are going back to work, so he'll be going to day care now. He's one that is going to go far in school - very smart. There is another little boy, the same one who missed me last week when I was away. He wasn't himself when he first arrived this morning. But by craft time, he was back to himself. He kept calling me by the teacher's name. Then he had to go to the washroom. He was talking and asking questions as we walked to the bathroom. I kept reminding him that he needed to go pee first and then talk. "But Mrs. Wee," he says, "I can do both at the same time!" Really, he couldn't. He had me smiling for the rest of the day. Then there was my outgoing half of the twin boys; he came running into class this morning; headed straight for me (I was on the floor playing cars), jumped in my lap and started crying. Mom had already left so had no clue what was going on. When Mom came to pick him up, she said she wasn't aware what was going on either. Nothing like a needed cuddle to pick up your day (I was thinking more for me) Gosh I love this job!!! Those kids just fill my heart with......stuff!
So after school, it was off to Chapters and cards. Had a meeting with my supervisor. It was short and to the point and I was home by 2:30. And to my surprised the son (who had no school today because of parent teacher interviews) had all his chores done.
Had a surprise message from Patrick's doctor's office. Seems they have an appointment for him for a CT scan already. It is for Monday the 18th. Talk about fast. Sometimes things come through. Now I'm a little concerned that they got it so fast. But my positive thinking is telling me, there must have been a cancellation. It will be nice to have it over with and stuff ruled out. Big dillema. The son has a math unit test at the time of the test. He's not happy about missing the test (I think this is my son), Hopefully the teacher is an understanding person (don't want to have to bring out the big guns)
Anyway thats my day.
I am feeling pretty great about being me!
