Some days I amaze myself. Early start to the day - up at 5:30 am. Not sure why, other than Bill woke up and when he gets up, Maya decides she needs to follow him for a treat. Then of course she realizes it's still pretty early and better come back to bed. Can't jump up on the bed in the dark. (Bought her stairs, but that's another story for another day) Had to take the car in for scheduled maintenance so I figured I might as well stay up and get things done.
First on my list was clean off my office desk. Yes again. Things just get piled up. I'm not sure how Bill keeps his desk so neat!
Had a quick bite to eat and then headed out around 8:15 - stopped at Tim Hortons for my free hot chocolate. Then to the bank to deposit a cheque. Drove into the Honda dealership around 8:35. There was a very friendly and talkative service man there. I gave him the email Bill printed out for me - it read in so many words - B1 change filters - $119.?? less 10% discount. So the gentleman printed me my invoices to sign - first one for for $119.?? less 10% discount. The other one was for 190.00 less 10% discount. Hmmm, I think, something doesn't seem right. But I had showed the instructions on the email to him, and he said he understood. I also gave him instructions to call Bill should anything else need to be done. So I wander into the waiting room to wait for my shuttle home. Something just didn't seem right. I'm pretty sure if there was a charge for $190.00, Bill would have put it on the instructions. So I asked Sean if he could please phone my husband to confirm that part of the invoice. No problem he says, but even if we don't phone him, we'll still be doing it. I did my part and headed home. Next order of business was to call Bill and warn him about this extra charge. By the time I got ahold of him, he had already been contacted by Sean. And I was right, Sean was wrong. Really, did we need to rotate the tires when they were actually snow tires and they were going to be removed soon anyway. I can see how some people get taken by these professionals. I would have. Thanks honey!!!
So now I'm home and unable to venture to far. Multi-tasking is my specialty - started supper - chicken and potatoes slow cooking on the BBQ; soccer laundry to be returned is now in the washer; our bathroom detailed cleaning and I mean detailed. I actually took the drain cover off the shower to clean out the drains; dishes in the kitchen and inbetween, working on a few baskets. All the time I was listening to a book on tape.
Of course all that work made me a little tired. Opened up the window in the bedroom to let some fresh air in and before I knew it, the phone was ringing and my shuttle ride was outside the house. I hope he couldn't tell I had just woke up. It's so hard to pretend that sometimes.
So delicious supper all ready and turns out this is a night that Bill has to work late! 8:30 pm and the chicken is a little dry, potatoes and asaparagus a little soggy!!!! Guess we'll be having lots of fried rice tomorrow with the left over chicken!!!!
The only good thing about Bill's delay this evening was the son and I got to watch 4 episodes of LOST. I'm still in love with Sawyer; still liking Jack and Kate; Echo is also my new favorite. I was sure surprised when Jack, Sawyer, Locke and Kate (accidentally) met up with the others. I can't believe Jack didn't ask more questions - like how they got here and that they could keep their damn island if they'd just help them get off!!!!! It's starting to get interesting again.
