151 days - wow! - that's over 4 months - over 21 weeks
Today was a slow start of a day. That might have something to do with the fact that I didn't go to bed until 3:00 am. No You Tube for me tonight (ok, maybe a little) I didn't get up until 9:30 this morning (and that was for the first time) Bill and I picked up the son from Stefans and took him to soccer. Then we popped into my mom's for a visit. She looked like she might be ready for a nap. Hope we didn't interrupt. Stopped at Superstore and picked up the ingredients for supper. Chow mein. It was delicous. Bill did most of the cooking, I just followed the directions (from him)
We tried to convince the Ellis's to come over for a movie night! Didn't work, although I got in a nice conversation with Shaunan (that was during and after 3 Daquires(sp) K, Shaunan, if you're reading this, and I know you will eventually, just want to let you know I appreciate our friendship. It was developed through the boys, but I believe it could stand on it's own in a heartbeat! Just wanted to put that out there. I am going to hold you to a movie date during a week day (and not BudAir)
So we went on with our movie just the three of us. Well actually two of us, cause I fell asleep with Maya on a sleeping bag and didn't wake up until the movie was over. I'm sure Transformers 2 is a great movie (not my choice) I guess I'll just have to catch it again when it comes out on TV. And yes I fell asleep, not passed out!!!!!!
POEM: This poem I wrote for my Uncle Len and Auntie Murt. Uncle Len has always been my favorite Uncle (he actually gave the toast to the bride at our wedding) Auntie Murt was not my favorite aunt growing up. She scared me to bits. But as I got older, I appreaciated her much more. When I was little, we would go to visit them in Carmangay. I was a bit of a mama's girl, and when Auntie Murt wanted to take my mom somewhere, she would ask me to go upstairs and sort her buttons for her. And she had hundreds, no thousands of buttons. She was a sewer. Well I think that is where my OCD started. So I would go upstairs, in the spooky room (their house used to be the old hospital) and I'd spend hours sorting the buttons by colors. I actually remember thinking I was doing something useful for her. At our wedding, she and Uncle Len gave us this small gift and told us we couldn't open it til we got on our honeymoon. So on the Princess Cruise, we open this package and it is filled with, you guessed it, buttons. So when it was time to celebrate their anniversary, I made them this poem, put it in a frame and glued buttons all around the frame. That was quite a few years ago, and now Uncle Len and Auntie Murt have moved out of the house in Carmangay and are living in Lethbridge. Uncle Len is in frail health and Auntie Murt is getting help looking after him.
Take a look at who is celebrating
Fifty years of wedded bliss.
A more handsome couple we’ve never seen
With a glow you cannot miss.
You’re special people in our hearts.
So this poem I’ve kept quite tame.
Only you’s and us will understand
Why there’s buttons on the frame.
Not very many couples
Can say they’ve found the way
To make a marriage last so long
So we’re here to have our say.
Happy Anniversary
Our wishes are sincere
And to celebrate traditionWe raise our glass in cheer.
BODY: Got in my 10,000 steps today.
MIND: I think writing about Uncle Len and Auntie Murt has made me realize, putting off visiting people until the time is perfect, is called procrastinating. A trip to Lethbridge is due real soon.
Good night and hello You Tube (not)
Stacey
