For arguements sake, I was in bed before 3:00 am last night. I turned the computer off at 2:00 am. I swear, Bonnie Hunt is the funniest lady around. So sincere and honest and can tell a story with the best of the story tellers. If you go to You Tube, type in Bonnie Hunt and her first audition. You'll have a smile on your face everytime you think of it.
So Bill and the son and I went for dim sum this morning. We go just down to Edgemont to a little place called Bobby Chao's. It's in the strip mall across from the gym. They don't come around with the little trays, but you order right from a menu when you first get in and then they bring the stuff to your table. We were obviously a little hungry, because tonight we have enough left overs for supper. The salmon and shrimp will will for Monday night.
Came home, did a little vacuuming and right on time, the Lazy-Boy boys delivered the new furniture for downstairs. Reclining sofa and chair; leather; black. I bet they're comfortable. Might have to sit through the son's game or Bill's tv shows to get a good idea. Now just need to find a couple of snuggly blankets to go with them (you could sleep in these things)
Snuck in my much needed nap (2:00 am remember) But had a really weird dream about soccer. I'm almost ready to be finished with this manager stuff. The negativity associated with the season is really doing a number on me. I am trying my best to be positive, objective and most of all understanding, but all of those things are being put to the test every day! Deep breath.....
Not sure if I mentioned, but I received a book for Christmas from Shaunan called "Have a little faith." The author is Mitch Albom; he's the author of Tuesdays with Morrie. It's a great read. Let me know if anyone wants to borrow it. I went out and purchased another one of his books. Five people you'll meet in heaven. Will let you know how it is.
POEM: So this was put into my Christmas letter about 6 years ago(2003) It was the year Ashley got Pebbles, her first horse.
Twas three weeks before Christmas.
This year went by fast.
Things were quite hectic.
The memories are vast.
So I figured it’s time
To sit down and jot.
What has happened to us.
All the good and the “NOT.”
We’ll first start with Patrick.
He’s a good size for age ten.
But he’s not finished growing.
It will happen – but when?
He loves the computer,
Nintendo and books.
Gameboy and soccer;
And he’s a dabbling cook.
Ashley’s now fourteen.
She’s growing too.
She wears some of my clothes,
But can’t fit my shoes.
Her passion for horses
Just hasn’t diminished.
Looks like trips to the barn
Will never be finished.
Her two gerbils died.
That was par for the course.
But they’ve since been replaced
By “Pebbles” – the horse.
Bill’s working hard.
(There’s barn fees to pay.)
And he’s back into rugby.
He still loves to play.
So far he’s not broken
His nose or more bones.
But you know when he’s played
By his grunts and his groans.
I’m pretty much
Doing all the same stuff.
Driving kids here and there.
Some days can be rough.
I’m still taking classes
At U of Calgary.
It’s very rewarding
And fulfilling to me.
I too have a hobby
And no it’s no joke.
Bill bought me a hot tub
So I sit and I soak.
That pretty much covers
The last 50 odd weeks.
We only unveiled
A short little peek.
We hope that this season
Brings you love and good cheer.
To family and friends,
Far and wide and those near.
BODY: Only got 7,000 steps in today. Will try and make up the difference tomorrow.
MIND: Louise Hay "There's always something to learn, something to know." Just wondering how many lives it will take me to learn it all?
Good Night
Stacey
