Working on a Wednesday kinda threw me off. Had a great afternoon with Sam though.
Other than that, it was a pretty slow day. Vegas is off the table. When will I learn. Yes means, "get me all the facts, prices, etc, see if it fits into the budget" Not this time. Oh well, at least the daughter still gets to come home in February. Wait, is that good!!!!!
So now I'll have some free time to get stuff done.
Made an appointment to get my hair cut. Short! I think so. It is so long, I can put it in a ponytail on top of my head. Probably a color too, but would like something soft that enhances the grey/white.
Poem:
ODE TO MRS. BILL
Mrs. Bill’s a teacher
Who has a heart of gold.
But until you really know her,
You’d think she’s very bold.
Her humour is one quality
That makes her really neat.
But her love of little children
Is what makes her really sweet.
Now everyone has their little quirks,
Mrs. Bill’s you may have seen.
She has this negative attitude.
Towards something that is green.
It’s smaller than a breadbox.
Yet bigger than a nickel.
If you haven’t guessed already.
It’s the famous DQ pickle.
This poem was written for Mrs. Bill, Patrick’s grade one teacher at the Hamptons School. Patrick left the school after grade three and went on to Northhaven elementary. Mrs. Bill, Wendy Smith and I would often go to DQ for lunch on a Friday, but Mrs. Bill did not like the pickles in the DQ hamburgers. I consider Mrs. Bill to be a very influencial person in Patrick life and more importantly, because this is my blog, my life. She was someone who suggested I get into the teaching profession. When I explained I liked kids, not parents, she suggested, a teacher assistant. And so I did. She has since retired from teaching and is currently have a children's book published. Thank you Mrs. Bill.
BODY: Close to 8000 steps today. Now I have two days to make up. But the good thing is, amongst all the construction going on I finally discovered where the stairs are. So now at Bow Valley, I'll be taking the stairs. Good thing, because the two elevators that work, are extremly slow.
MIND: I am sending and wishing positive energy and thoughts to all those in Haiti that are going through this terrible devastating time.
Good Night
Stacey
