Day 294 - 71 Days to Go

DYKE

butch: (slang) offensive term for a lesbian who is noticeably masculine
dike: enclose with a dike; "dike the land to protect it from water"
dam: a barrier constructed to contain the flow of water or to keep out the sea

I should almost call this the blog of definitions.

And the saga continues. So I've gone from domineering to dyke! I went to work this morning at the preschool. It's the first time I've been in class since last Thursday, and the "incident" (which I'm not sure is what) with the demanding father. The teacher proceeded to fill me in on what transpired between the two. After his comment about domineering, the teacher sent him an email asking to meet and maybe discuss his concerns, or what his goals are for his child. His reply was to withdrawn his son from the program. He then proceeded to question getting his money back for June. The teacher informed him that was not possible, and advised of the funds he still owed for "late fees" and non volunteering fees. Well, that's when the #*$ hit the fans. So between his annoucing we'd never see a dime to me being a dyke (not even just a lesbian), the conversation didn't get any nicer. Damn, I shouldn't have gotten my hair cut so short (even though I really like it) I better stay out of any gay bars till it grows back!!!!! . Obviously strong women (or as he like to call them "dykes" are not appreciated in his circle of friends.) Is this the end, or will there be more.........I only hope I don't read anything in the newspapers about this family!!! I'm sure it won't be good!

Moving on (she says in her deepest voice possible) I left the preschool quickly to get the Hamptons School for 2 hours of work. I'll find out in a couple of weeks (when a ticket comes in the mail) whether there were any red light camera's set up. I was moving.

So cleaned up this afternoon; got supper ready and Bill came home early so he could go golfing. I skipped Line Dancing again tonight. Sent Joe an email to let him know - I may have to pull out of a few of the stampede functions - the breakfast's will still be a go!

So instead of Line Dancing, I took the son to his soccer practice. Then I had to run a few errands to Staples and Safeways (10% Tuesday at safeways you know) I had to get more label tape from Staples. I decided I am tired of searching through a box to find cords for camera's phone, etc. So every cord that can be plugged into anything (electronic and not attached) is getting a label.

Groceries are almost put away (son needed the computer so I had to get the blog written) and then I am off to bed. Card work tomorrow.

Note to De: if you feel the urge to sent me a nice compliment (with no questions attached) regarding the dyke comment, it will be greatly appreciated. I do get tired of begging!

BODY: 11,200 steps and practiced line dancing.

MIND: no author "People call people bad names either because they're mad at themselves or they're jealous. These people either have mental problems or they are bullies, but mostly people that call you bad names are bullies It could be because they don't like you for some reason and they want to hurt your feelings."

Good night

Stacey
