Day 305 - 60 Days to Go

Spent our last day in Seattle, and what a start to the day. This morning there was only yesterday's clothes and the toiletries bag to pack up. I was gatherine my stuff and noticed that my Lululemon bag with all my cd's, cd player and recharges was missing. When Bill got back from his run we looked all over for it. It was no where to be found in the room. Maybe it got left in the car? No, checked everywhere in the car. Now I know it was there on Friday. Hmmm. Where could it have gone. It must have been stolen. So after breakfast we went to the front desk and spoke to the manager. No problem, he says, we have cameras in the hall, we see what's happened. So he had to wait for Patrick, "technical manager" to get in. If you ever watched the TV show Las Vegas - he would have been the equivalent to Mike on the show. So we check out of our room and head down to the Pier while Patrick reviews the tapes. It was a beautiful morning. We took the Duck's tour. It's a big "vehicle" that drives on the road and goes in the water. Captain Dog was our leader. Learned some interesting facts; seen the hospital from Grey's Anatomy and seen the house on the lake where they filmed "Sleepless in Seattle." Both of which neither Bill or myself have really seen. Spent the rest of our morning and afternoon walking around the market. It was the busiest we have seen it so far. That might have had to do with a) it was a Saturday and b) it was gorgeous out. So we had a bite to eat at Bill's sourdough bakery and headed back to our hotel. Patrick and Bill went over the tape (I was trying to find a car wash for Bella.) Then I went and had a look at the tape with them. Nobody but the housekeeping lady had been in the room. Now, the first thought is well she must have taken it (but that really didn't make sense to me , because there wasn't anything worth real value in the bag- tapes from the library, a broken down CD walkman, my little shuffle and a bunch of chargers.) The second school of thought was maybe she picked up the bag in error as garbage. Bill and tech guy Patrick thought this must have been the answer because a) Bill thought maybe he moved the bag next to the garbage can and b) both Bill and tech guy thought the white trash bag that housekeeping brought out had something darkish inside. Again this didn't make sense to me as the bag was a Lululemon bag and the electronic stuff would have been on top, so it wouldn't appear to be garbage and I couldn't see this image in the bag that the men saw. So we were all stumped and puzzled. But Patrick, the tech manager was very generous. He offered $100.00 U.S. to cover the cost of the CD's for the library. So if you ever want a great hotel to stay at in Seattle, try this TravelLodge - they were great (except for the missing stuff.) Despite this little dip in the trip, we did have a wonderful time.
So now it was time to head off to Leavenworth to spend the evening.
It was only a two hour drive, and after Bill wash Bella, we took off the roof and enjoyed a nice leisurely trip.
We had a small dinner in the hotel room (the rest of the sour dough bread). Neither of us was really hungry. I was tired and ready for bed. I zonked out watching TV and then Bill straightened up and got ready for bed! STACEY--------------------was what Bill yelled so loud, I thought there was a fire - WHAT -----------I yelled back just as loud. There he was holding a Lululemon bag that he found in the suitcase!!. Now the moral of the story is - I don't know what the moral is, but I know for a fact that I didn't put that bag in there. So when Bill said he moved the bag near the garbage, he must have meant, he moved it into the suitecase. Case solved. We emailed tech manager, told him to credit back his money and give the housekeeping lady another $50.00. It's hard to believe we came away from that incident feeling pretty good. But it was a win win situation in the end.

BODY: Lots and lots of walking again today and all up hill (in Seattle, it's almost possible)
