Miss De - you can call me D.D. any time you want. I remember a different version of the Michael's story though. (and sometimes my memory has laspes) I remember having you pick everything out, but I don't remember going shopping while I left you there to pick. By the way, you have great taste. I love that picture in Bill's office and I know he does too.
Much quieter day today. No new names. Worked for Carlton this morning. What I thought was only going to take an hour, maybe two, ended up being three. Sometimes asking questions leads to more questions. It was great though. I'm slowly starting to get the hang of everything. So because I finished so late, there was really no time to go home before having to pick up the son. So I ran to Michaels (good segway De) to pick up more tape and more flowers. I bought some the other day to take to mom's grave and decided I would like a few in the house to remind me of Mom. They are very colorful daisys; and very real like. Then it was back to school to pick up the son. Little did I know I could have picked him up earlier as he missed his bus for gym and ended up in the library doing homework.
Boy was the son grouchy; you'd think he had to go to a dentist appointment or something. Oh wait he did. He was getting a crown and he was a little annoyed at me because he has a big soccer game tonight. Now normally I would have changed the appointment, but since the game had already been changed twice, and ended up on this day, I said "screw it!"
I ran home after the son was safetly strapped into the dentist chair. Changed clothes, got supper ready, threw in a load of wash and back to pick him up. Still grouchy but at least now he can't really talk.
Then for some unbelievable reason the game was scheduled as close to Okotoks as possible - Canyon Meadows. I knew Deerfoot was going to be a gong show so we left an hour early and my estimate was pretty close. We were about 10 minutes early. I really don't know how people can drive that snarl day in and day out!
Despite fighting with mosquitos, the game was fantastic. Did we score - nope! Did the other team score - nope! Now that normally might not seem like a big deal, but there was a lot of history with team we played. It's a long story - short version - they were ntl champs last year; they haven't lost (or tied a game this season); our previous indoor coach quit and went to their team along with a couple of players. The boys played with such passion - I'm pretty sure there was some pride involved.
So by the time we got home ( long long drive) I had plans to just sit in front of the television; write my blog and go to bed. I skipped steps one and two and just went to bed - I was exhausted. So apologies to Shaunan for screwing up her evening. I promise to do better.
