Day 303 - 62 Days to Go

Well we made it. 15 hours later and 13 of that driving. Bill and I are in Seattle. --- Again. Only this time we didn't allow Air Canada to cancel our flight. We showed them - we drove instead. I must admit, I was a little leary at first, but it was a very enjoyable drive and it went by very fast. We did have a minor glitch at the beginning of the trip. "Nora" (navigational system) did not like the way we were going and up until the U.S. border, she kept suggesting we do a U turn and head back (I think she wanted us to go the Banff route instead of Crowsnest Pass) But after that she was a pretty good help. I guess there was actually a second glitch. About 160 kim out of Seattle, Bill's gas light went on. He was pretty sure we could make it all the way to Seattle. I am glad I was able to convince him to stop at the next gas station - if for nothing else to prevent me from having to take an ativan.
Bill proved to me and himself that his new baby Bella, can go at least 250 clicks (code for km). It's a good thing he wasn't going that fast when the state police in Lincoln pulled him over. In fact he had cruise control on when he got pulled over. The fact that he was going faster than the speed limit was just a minor detail. I told him to pretend he didn't speak any English - but he wouldn't play along. The trooper was a "trooper" though. When the tickets was handed out, I asked him if I could take his picture - we were doing a road trip and it was for the album. He just laughed and suggested I take one of his car instead. So I got out and took one of the "cop" and his "car." Expect for the curves in the mountains, we pretty much stayed within the speed limit. I'm glad we were both able to laugh it off.
So we're here, not hungry but definetly tired. Didn't help that we had to wait in line to use the computer. Really, how many other people need to write in their blog.
Not sure what are plans are for tomorrow during the day, but we will be going to see the Remingtons in the evening.

BODY: A nice big stretch for me when we got to our room. Talk about stiff legs and sore butt cheeks.

MIND: Nothing like a 13 hours driving trip to reconnect with another person, and yourself.

Good Night (we gained an hour)
Stacey
