Finally, a beautiful Sunday. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there; to my favorite Father-in-Law and of course thinking of my own Dad. Born 1918, passed away in 1983 a few months before his 65th birthday. He was so looking forward to receiving canada pension after contributing for so many years. He would have been 92 this year.
My father-in-law was spending the day at the races; Bill was going golfing in the evening, so all the father's got to do what they wanted. Bill spent the morning helping Brian change the tires on two of his cars. I drove the son to his soccer game. I mean the son drove us to his soccer game. He had to be there early to put up nets so I left him there at 12:00 and then Bill went to watch the actual game at 1:30. They won...yeah. There were a couple of injuries. The son got stepped on and has cleat marks on his chest. He said it just feels bruised but I am a little concerned as it is right over his heart! Am I over worried - probably - but I think he should really get it checked out. I may have to pull the mom card!
So I spent a good part of the day in the back yard pulling weeds from my garden. Some time during the process I lost my clippers. I know they are in the garden, but my eyes couldn't see them. Maybe by tomorrow they will have reappeared.
Supper was quiet. Bill was golfing, the son had left overs, the daughter went out with friends and I feeling like bagel and peanut butter. I did finally have a piece of chicken for lunch - it was left overs from yesterday. Darn it was good.
Got all my stuff together to work on a scrapbook page of our recent trip to Seattle - signs - signs every where signs.
BODY: I wore flip flops today so the pedometer wasn't attached, but spent alot of time bending over in the garden. I really am trying to work on that flexibility.
MIND: author unknown but I copied this from my cousin Darcy on her Facebook page
"roses grow in heaven; pick a bunch for me.Place them in my father's arms and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love and miss him. When he turns to smile place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for awhile, because remembering him is easy, I do it......every day."
Good night
Stacey
