Day 299 - 66 Days to Go

Why is it doctors and nurses make the worst patients? Hmmmm
The day had a slow start to it. That might have had something to do with the fact I went to bed a little later than I should have.
Got the laundry sorted and ready to be washed for tomorrow. Then it was off to the son's socce game. It was was out in the SW (aren't they usually) I had planned to sit in the car and watch, but we had a substitute goal keeper and his mom and I spent so much time talking and texting on the phone, I decided to park and just sit with her. Now normally I use her name, but today, to protect the innocent, I'm keeping her identity a secret. She knows who she is. Although I'm pretty sure she won't be reading my blog tonight. I left her in emergency at the Rockyview. Let me jump back a couple of hours. During our visit while the soccer game was going on, she was still in some incredible pain. Now I'm no doctor (although I did a pretty good job of predicting what was wrong with her.) So I informed her (that must the domineering part of me again) that I was taking her to emerg. Seeing how she is a employee of that hospital, we got "free parking." Now she must have had some inkling that she would be staying, because she had me park and informed me how to get out of the parking lot all by myself. Hmmmm
So up the elevator and to emerg. and to admitting. I thought we got in quite fast. Before long the doctor was talking to her and informing her they would do an ultra sound. Fast forward a couple of hours - the ultra sound has been done; we've diagnosed all the other patients in emergency; the chicago blackhawks have won the hockey game; and the doctor returns to tell her that she should speak to the surgeon about the results of the ultra sound and blood work. Turns out the surgeon is a doctor she's already seen and he is also the surgeon who removed a lump I had about 13 odd years ago. Well he tells her, your gall bladder needs to come out - "WHO CALLED IT!""" Our patient is not a happy camper. Luckily the doctor can get her in for surgery in two hours. Talk about fast!!!!! See, she knew she would be staying.
So she sends me away with a couple of hugs (I stole them) and calling me a not very nice word. I drop her purse and pass off at her sister's house and head home (stopping for the son's supper on the way home) . Despite spending the last 8 hours away from home, the time went by fast.

BODY: 5,000 steps recorded - there is only so much walking you can do in a hospital. But I did have a nice healthy salad for supper.

MIND: Please send out all your positive energy to my friend S-h-a-u-n-a-n (just in case she is the lady I left at the hospital) She'll be home by morning.

Good night
Thinking of girlfriend.
