I had a much better day today. Thanks for asking Cheryl. I was still tired when I went to work this morning, but felt rejuvinated after work. I can officially say I love my job. The kids are great; especially the ESL students. They are making great progress. All the kids have their own unique personalities.
After work I was going to go get my nails done; for the Christmas party tomorrow; but decided a nap was much better suited for my day. So after a quick bite; short nap, I got some Christmas presents wrapped and a few things cleaned and put away.
The son went shopping with a friend to pick up a few Christmas presents for his friends. I met him at Market Mall. I managed to make it into Staples and Home Sense to pick up a few presents as well. Then it was off to soccer practice. Thats when all heck broke loose.
First I met Shaunan at the practice and we took her vehicle to the Sandman Inn for a quick Christmas drink. Belani's and Margaritas and nachos. The drinks were good, the nachos - too many and too burnt. But the visit was great. Then Shaunan dropped me back at the practice and she ran off to another engagement. I was getting ready to leave the center when I was informed I left my purse down by the gym. Thanks to coach Chris for bringing that to my attention. I would have never known it was missing until I got home. Turns out Mr. Ellis brought it upstairs and hit it under his shirt. He was going to take it home and bring it to the soccer game Friday night. Thank goodnes someone told me I misplaced it. I can feel my heart racing now as I think how I would have been frantically looking for it and cancelling all my credit cards and stuff. I'm blaming it all on Shaunan and the fact that she twisted my arm to have a drink (even if it was only one)
So after the practice the son and I gave a fellow teammate a ride home. Boy did we have our eyes opened. I don't want to go into too much detail, as the teammate shared some facts about his previous life in Afganistan and Pakistan. We should all be very humbled by what this family have endured and gone through. Even the son was speechless. Next time I am feeling crabby or don't get my way, I will think about what this young man and his family went through to live in Canada.
BODY: I would like to say the Margarita did wonders for me. But really, I guess getting in over 10,000 steps was probably healthier.
MIND: When I go to bed tonight, I will have a very long list of things to be greatful for. The list should be endless.
Good night early , as the son needs the computer for homework.
