Pretend it's Thursday, December 24th
I didn't totally forget about the blog last night. I remembered after I got into bed. Now usually I'd get back up, make a bee line for the computer. But I thought to myself, it's Christmas Eve, you'll be forgiven.
Got a few things accomplished during the day. Then after supper it was off to Robin's for a family gathering. Baby Caylee was there (other people too). She is getting so big. She is starting to develop her own look. So sweet and cute. How can you not fall in love with her. She was a little tired and fussy when she got there, but it had been a long day for her.
We played a game (can't remember the name) but you ask thought provoking questions. The one that stands out in my mind was "What object from your childhood do you miss." At the time the question was asked, only Robin, Mom, the daughter and myself were there. My mom answer still makes me angry at her Dad. Mom said she had this doll that looked just like a baby. There was a contest at the drugstore in town. You had to dress your doll up to look like a baby and who ever had the best dressed doll would win a wicker baby carriage. Well Grandmas Fraswer (Edith) took my mom's doll and dressed it up beautiful, and then she put Auntie Eva's name on the doll (Mom's younger sister) and entered it in the contest. Well the doll won, and Auntie Eva got the carriage, but Mom was told Auntie Eva would share it with her. Apparently this was all Grandpa's idea. It only goes to reinforce my childhood memories of Grandpa being a very old and grouchy guy.
BODY: I only got 8000 steps in yesterday but I could have done more (if I wanted to)
MIND: Be careful what you say to a child, if it hurts they will remember it for 81 years.
Happy Holidays
