Six days til Christmas. Unbelievable.
Well we arrived home safely from Kananaskas. It was an interesting trip. Despite the let downs; 1 -30 minute traffic delay on Stony Trail; 2- average dinner meal; 3- nobody dancing because of ok music; 4- 500 degrees in our room; the overall experience was nice. Some of the benefits or highlights of the evening 1 - valet parking; 2 -quick check in 3-our room was in the main building same as the function; 4 - we had a loft room which was lovely 5 -nice desserts with the meal; 6 - great brunch in the morning; 7 - the weather was beatiful; 8- the roads were good for travelling.
So I guess by looking at both lists, the event ended up on a postive note. The group isn't as friendly at the Temple group was, but then Temple was smaller and you got to know people better. Enough about the party.
Arrived home around 11:30ish. The kids had cleaned up the kitchen somewhat and were just hanging out. We did a few things around the house and then everyone disappeared. Bill went for a massage and the kids went Christmas shopping What better time to have a nap. AFter that I was busy and on a mission. The son wanted salmon for supper so Bill stopped in after Superstore and picked some up. Then I had a great idea to clean my oven. It's self clean so set it up and then realized I'd have to cook the salmon on the BBQ. Then I had to think of a vegetable - and decided to go with a spinach salad. Now I like my spinach salads with hard boiled eggs and bacon bits. Again, can't boil and egg sause the over in cleaning. So I decide to google and see what I can do. I came across a site that showed me hot to hard boil an egg in the microwave. I had always thought you couldn't do that in a microwave, but if goggle said I can, it must be true. GOOGLE LIES. I was trying to get some answers from the son and Bill on why it would take 8 mintues to cook the egg in the microwave when it didn't take that long in a pot on the stove. Well after 5 minutes passed, and in the middle of an explanation from Bill, the egg, and water exploded everywhere in the microwave. I pulled what I like to call a "Logan". Thankfully the daughter came upstairs and made a delicious salad and salad dressing withouth the egg or bacon bits. We ate supper and while the oven was still cleaning, I got the fridge cleaned and cleaned out as well. I better get as much done as I can when I have the energy. Bill and the kids watched a movie downstairs (Star Trek, I think) Bill borrowed a blue ray player and was trying it out.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get the house straightened out.
BODY: Didn't have my pedometer on today. But I know I got a great workout cleaning out the fridge. (and cleaning up the microwave)
