First day back to work, and it was an exhausting day. Thank goodness there were a few kids away and so we only had 16 children; 3 girls and 13 boys. I rushed home after work so I could sneak a catch up nap. Didn't happen - just closed my eyes and the daughter called. It was an emergency - she had a blister on her foot arch. She wanted to know what would be causing it!!! Was she out running, I asked - Yes. Well, maybe that's how she got it. But it was on the arch of her foot - she questioned me. "Never mind, I'll call Dad!" her answer to everything. Now I know I didn't have much empathy - but her tone was one of "death sounding!" and of couse that was the emergency I expected. I talked to her later on Facebook and asked how her foot was and did she figure out the cause? "Yes," she replied "Dad says it was probably my shoes!" Now why didn't I think of that?
So now that I had to time for a nap, I quickly cleaned up the kitchen, made some rice and headed off to pick up the son for "soccer!" Not just any soccer though - school soccer has now started to it's filling in the blanks until outdoor league soccer finally gets organized! Thank goodness the practice was inside - because April weather in Calgary is similar to December weather in Calgary!!Snow, snow, snow and cold!
While we were in Seattle, we visited the Barnes and Noble store. Now with the Cdn dollar so close in value to the U.S. dollar, it only made sense to check out some books. I purchased the Howie Mandel biography on CD. I love listening to books in the car. This one explains alot of this funny man, and he is the narrator. He discusses his ADHD, OCD, color blindness and humour and how it impacted on who he is today. It's a great listen and no doubt a great read. If anyone wants to borrow it when I'm finished, just let me know. So I'm listening to that book in the car; reading another book before bed "The Horse Boy" - about a young boy with autisim and then listening to my hypnosis tape when I go to bed. My mind should be full of information. Too bad I can't retain a lot of it!!!! But if it was all played in a song, I'd have it memorized in a heart beat.
Came home from soccer, and had a nice family dinner. Bill arrived home on time; the son was showered and set the table and I had everything ready. Then it was time for a quick episode of Lost. I say quick because it was the same episode the son and I watched last night but apparently we both fell asleep during the show because neither one of could tell the other what it was about. Tonight we both managed to stay awake.
BODY: 7000 steps. I feel like I am probably over from the walking on the weekend - but when it comes to steps, I don't think carrying over is allowed. Tomorrow I have great intentions of picking up the pace.
MIND: Louise Hay "I live and move in a safe and secure world." and I wish the same for everyone
Good night
