It was a very interesting day today. A rollercoaster of emotions and information. The day started out pretty normal - get up, eat breakfast; shower; get ready for work. The son was a little slow this morning - and I couldn't convince him to drive to school. (might have something to do with the fact he slept in). At school, parents converged on the classroom. Apparently there was a nasty crow attacking a baby bunny in the front of the church. The kids all had to pass it into the building. One dad finally picked up the bunny (I've never seen a baby bunny that small before) and brought it into the school. He took it up to the secretary and she finally found a safe haven for it. Animal rescure services, near the jail was very helpful. Now I'm not sure if the bunny could be saved or not, but they would take care of it never the less. I'll try not to be so judgemental of those rabbits in my flower beds any more, but those crows I could do with out.
Came home after work and had lunch and puttered about. Tried to get my act together and go outside, but by the time I was ready, supper needed to be made. The son was coming home after school (forgot what that felt like) and eating a bite before having to go to soccer.
I couldn't get him to drive to practice - he seemed to be in a foul mood. We were just pulling up to the soccer field when he realized he forgot his shoes - now he was in an even fouler mood. So we came all the way home, he got his shoes and we headed back. He was about 15 minutes late, but never made a comment. I would later learn the reason for his disgruntleness (sp). Anyway I continued on my way to the mall; needed to deposit some cheques and pick up some cards. Luckily for me there was a purse and bag store in between. I seen a sign for 50% off. I knew the son needed a new wallet so I thought I would take a look. I found one that was identical to the worn out one he now carried around. Then I realized the sign said buy 1, get the 2nd at 50% off. Well, this was the perfect wallet, so I did what any good mother would do - I bought a new purse. Mine was still in working order, but I couldn't let a good deal pass me by. Actually if I hadn't found one I really liked, I would have just bought the wallet - but I found a new one. The best part is there is a zipper pouch on the outside of the purse that I can keep my phone in. So next time people phone me, I'll be able to find my phone before they hang up on me!!!!! (note to self - remember to use the zippered pouch on the outside for phone)
Got everything I needed and headed back to pick up the son. I grabbed my blanket (soccer sleeping bag) and sat on the grass in the gorgeous sun. I got one letter wrote before the kids were finished.
Bill had already eaten when we arrived home, so the son had a quick bite and then the shower. He was off to visit his girlfriend before she left for the weekend. I had a weird conversation with Bill. At first I thought he was joking, but he was serious so I was a little confused for a while. I asked him if he would like to share the driving regarding the son's visit to his girlfriends. Bill said "What you drive 1/2 way and I'll drive the other 1/2. Now maybe this sounds logical to most people. What I meant was he could drive one way and I'd drive the other. Maybe it's a male thing. So Bill took the son and I picked him up.
Didn't watch any Lost tonight. Let me rephrase that, I didn't watch any Lost tonight. The son watched the current season on TV. I on the other hand finally got to see Glee since it has been back on. I love the show. Music on shows just makes me smile. It was an episode on Madonna music. Very good. The sound track is for sale. Will have to take a listen to it late on line.
BODY: 10,000ish steps
MIND: I've learned that it might actually pay to be the squeaky wheel. Hopefully the son won't come away that impression - but will take away a more valuable lesson. When I figure out what that is, I'll try and run it by him!
Good Night
Stacey
