Happy Mother's Day to Everyone!
(thinking of Mom Wee always)
The kids had already presented me with my Mother's Day present last Sunday before the daughter left for Taiwan. This morning, Bill gave me a nice little gift. I had been wanting the Michael Jackson DVD and I almost rented it last night. I can't wait to watch it.
Mother's day was spent like most other days - at soccer. Technically I only dropped the son off at soccer. His practice was right across the street from my Mom's center. So I left the son at soccer and took my mom and her neighbor out for lunch. We went to Joey's. Even though it was noon, we didn't have any difficulty getting a table, but, when we left after an hour, there was a very long line up. Good timing. Of course I had a million and one things to take to my mom's place, and I forgot them all, except her present. I'll be seeing her again on Thursday so hopefully my brain will be working by then.
Bill tried to get in some golfing today, but everytime he put his driver to the Tee, it started to snow. I guess he just wasn't ment to start his golfing season yet.
The son and I got in an episode of Lost. The title for this show is very appropriate - I'm getting more lost. Jack and Kate and Hurley have returned, but to 1977. Is it just me, or does Jack's hair look like it changed with the time travel? In addition to Lost, the son and I have been playing some cards over the past few days. Aggrivation Rummy. My sister taught me this game, and we are still going by the little score card she made me with the directions. It is over 25 years old - just hand written on an old recipe card.
BODY: Did my treadmill this morning. I didn't wear my pedometer while I was out today, so my steps only show 7300.
MIND: I believe I mentioned a song in a previous day called "Angel." The son played it for me a long time ago. The best part was he said "listen to the words mom, it's about a Mom!" I loved it. So in tribute to mother's day, I've included the words. They are to an extreme, but the theme is the same - mother's are their children's angels.
[Verse 1]Now you've been up and you've been downStayed strong even though daddy wasn't around
My momma through the thick and the thin beginning to end
And though I be sinning you keep me livin' with that love that you givin'
It's unconditional
hey the sun shines when I see a smile on ya face
My momma with the money and jewels the record and tours
I'd give it away if I could make your days happy days
And when my hearts broke and can't cope I'm comin' on home
To remember the reason why I was born
Cuddle up inside your heavenly arms you help me weather the storm
You love music so I put it in song
[Chorus] She's an Angel workin' on God's train
She's an Angel workin' on me
She's an Angel workin' on God's train
She's an Angel workin' on me
[Verse 2]I wasn't born wild you know you raised me right
But the roads of Alabama called me into the night
From the coke and the weed and extacy I'm lost in the streets but you still remain next to me
The blood that I bleed it flows through your veins
Even in my lowest point I can still hear your words to my brain
First time I was arrested mommas love was tested
I couldn't contest it so here's my confession you're my blessing
You're the reason I believe you're the reason I sing
You're the reason angels tangle me in heavenly things
It's been a long road so hard and cold
But you keepin' me warm with your heart of gold
[Chorus] She's an Angel workin' on God's train
She's an Angel workin' on me
She's an Angel workin' on God's train
She's an Angel workin' on me
[Verse 3]You're the light at the end of the tunnel the break of the day
After the darkest night chasing all the evil away
You're my flowers and sunshine cherries and red wine
Diamonds they can't find shining through hard times
You're the angel on Earth the proof there's a God
The reason to keep on going you're my light in the dark
The first star in the sky and the last to leave
And when I'm travelin' through the night I feel your light on me
[Chorus] She's an Angel workin' on God's train
She's an Angel workin' on me
She's an Angel workin' on God's train
She's an Angel workin' on me
Good Night
Stacey
