Day 286 - 79 Days to Go

What a nice relaxing long weekend. Thanks Anne and Susan for letting me tag along. Congratulations to Susan and her soccer team for taking the gold in their division/age group. They played some great soccer. I wish Calgary could have some of the refs that Edmonton has. For the most part they were friendly, outgoing, had a sense of humour and pretty good refs.
We got home around 3:00ish. Actually the more I think about it, I don't remember actually checking the clock as to what time we did get home. We had a bet on in the car as to home many vehicles there would be at the house. I lost because there were all 4 vehicles home. So I walked in the door, Bill was in his underwear in his office; the son was on the couch watching TV; and the daughter emerged from her bedroom in shorts and a T-shirt. Maya was the only one who ran to great me and wanted to be picked up!!! Then Bill said he was going golfing; the daughter was going shopping and the son needed the computer for homework! Welcome Home!!!!
Maya and I did a little cuddling on the couch; had a quick bite to eat and then it was time to take the son to soccer practice. Let's guess who did that!!!!!
Not sure if I should be thanking Anne or cursing her. While we were away, she got me hooked on a Nintendo DS game called Brain Age II. So after I dropped the son off at soccer, I ran over to Walmat to get the game. Oh wait, I don't have a Nintendo DS - the kids do, so heck I bought one of those two. Normally I would feel a little guilty, but when I got home from the trip, I discovered Bill had bought a new weed whacker (gas) so I figured, what's a little game!
So I spent my time waiting for the son playing my game, doing my grocery list and reading the newspapers I missed while I was away. When the practice was over, we headed home and I quickly ran into the house to write this blog because the son still has lots of homework and studying to do with the computer. Where is he? In the car playing with my new game!!!! It really is fun and addicting.

BODY: I bought myself a steamed milk at starbucks and relaxed in the car reading the paper. No pressure to get it all read.

MIND: This brain age game is supposed to help keep your mind young. Today my mind age I think was 58. I think once I figure out the games it will get lower. Here's hoping.

Good night
Stacey
